I've been hoping for Arizona to hang on for Biden and not just to ice the electoral cake.

See, we have weird recount rules. Candidates cannot ask for a recount and one is automatically triggered only if the result is closer than .1 percent. So, if Nevada were to be convincingly blue beyond hope of recounting, and if AZ was not insanely close, Biden could have unshakably reached 270 and we wouldn't have any reason to recount Pennsylvania or Georgia and any challenge would hopefully be over SO much sooner.

Then I remembered that Wisconsin is part of Biden's 253 and recounts are inevitable so we should probably turn this into a drinking game. New lawsuit filed?  Drink!  Recount changes nothing?  Big drink!

Recount rules, I believe, vary state by state.

Yesterday or the day before I read that Georgia will have a recount.  No idea if that is still accurate.  I guess we will know sometime after the first count.  Recounts are expensive and rarely change the vote count.

As for recount rules varying by state, yes, but none of the states currently in question have rules anything like Arizona. They all allow for someone to request a recount under the current circumstances. Nevada allows for a recount to be called regardless of the distribution of votes.

Some states say that whoever asks for a recount pays for it. My advice is to ask for the money in advance!
