Aww thanks.

I've spent the last 24-30 hours talking perpetually-depressed-and-defeatist democrat friends off ledges. It's been endless doom and gloom. "We lost Florida, it's all over oh no" and so on. Every single thing. "Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota are all red!" So I've just been trying to get everyone to step back, breathe, have some perspective. We got this. Sure it's not The Great Blue Tsunami people fantasized about.

But Trump right now is, reportedly, sullen and down as he realizes he's losing and all his ratfuckery efforts are failing. He's threatening lawsuits that his lawyers aren't even filing ("they're more like political statements than legal papers" reported the PA AG). The Secret Service has enacted a no-fly zone over where Biden's victory celebration is planned. Because they know.

Ohio elected an openly lesbian sheriff... to replace the sheriff who fired her for being lesbian. Oklahoma - OKLAHOMA - elected a non-binary muslim to state legislature. Vermont elected a transgender state legislator. Biden is going to win with probably more than 80 million votes. That's astonishing.

We're moving the right direction. Not as fast as some of us want. But there's a lot of good to be found in the last 24 hours.

It is really good to be able to see the long road that we have ahead of us in a positive light.

Things are improving even if the fringes are becoming more desperate.

I still feel a bit depressed that he got this many votes but if you look at the big picture he is losing the popular vote by a wide margin.  It sucks that this system makes the dem have to earn more votes in order for them to win.

LOL trump came on a few minutes ago to make a statement and all the networks, including fox, cut away after about 5 minutes of his verbal diarrhea.

I love how he is calling for them to stop counting the votes.  But wouldn't that mean you would have to go with the results that currently stand?  He is behind in Arizona and Nevada.

Both GA and PA are closing strongly for Biden.  Almost there.

I called 306-232 yesterday and it's looking more and more like I was right.

306-232 is especially fun considering that was the final tally in 2016...

I would love it if that were the case.

And now for some dark humor:

they haven't started counting absentee votes in Alaska?? the democratic senate candidate there is making optimistic noises...

The dynamics of the Alaska Senate race at this hour remain in a state of flux. With approximately 44.6 percent of the ballots not yet counted, we believe we will win once every vote has been counted in the state.

Last I saw, alaska was still at only about 50% votes counted.

I doubt very much it would go democrat, but with all the down ticket contests I can understand why the Democratic candidate is making that kind of noise...

So, a big part of Arizona going blue this time? The Navajo Nation.

There are 85,000 registered voters there. 76,000 of them voted. 89% turnout.

74,000 of them voted for Biden.

(you might remember that this was the place that asked the Trump admin for PPE and medical supplies when COVID hit the reservation in April, and instead they were sent boxes of body bags)
