Well I finally replaced my old desktop computer that was over 11 years old. I found a really good deal on this and I had bought a gaming monitor around Christmas to go with it. Obviously there is a big difference in performance.

I saw the post about anti virus and have been using Panda. I bought and am using Malwarebytes. I have been happy with it catching a lot of things before both on the computer and my phone.

Gonna recommend you grab another 8gb stick of RAM that matches that one, though. You want two (or four) sticks so they run in dual-channel mode (faster), plus 8gb is now the bare minimum, with 16 being the standard for most users.

Actually I was going to mention I planned to add another 8GB memory to it possibly more. I got a good deal but they wouldn't let you change much and they wanted too much for memory anyway.

It's pretty glorious. I got a sweet deal on it, too. Nailed a deep sale on Amazon and got it for $350 (regularly runs $550-600).

Nice monitor Pixie!  Damn I need a new monitor.  That, 16 GB Ram, and a new video card are next on my upgrade list.  Not cheap, so I'll have to space it all out.  I got a 2 TB M2 SSD a couple weeks ago on sale at Newegg and it is really nice.  Tons of space now.

I think my computer is four years old and it is still rolling without an issue.  No plan to upgrade anything at this point.  I just get to imagine all that sweet gear you are showing off.

I upgraded cpu/mobo/ram recently so I'm set for quite a while (Ryzen 3600 and 32gb RAM) but I need a new video card. Holding out for the 3080s to release for that sweet, sweet effortless ray tracing...
