22 days since a positive Test here now. No active cases. Economy isn’t doing the best. I heard 40 000 out of work. They expect another 80 000 to lose jobs in coming months.

Basically for covid it’s border restrictions, hygiene, record where you go if you need to contact trace but no more social distancing here

Then you guys are doing much better than we are.  People here like to think it's not a big deal, but it's actually spiking in a lot of areas.  The idiot president has basically given up on it.

The fact that they decided they need this waiver shows that it is a bad idea to start with.

FYI after about 3 weeks of no new cases, then the last case closed everyone was happy. However people who were overseas can still come home.  In the last week or so  we are getting a steady increase in cases.  They are mostly in quarantine in hotels, but we are hearing some shitty stories of at least 1000 people who left without getting tested.  No idea if/when we will get more cases outside quarantine again. The mood has swung around a bit here.

Don't worry Tim, it's fading away.  At least that's what Ol' Trumpy likes to tell everyone.

There's lots of them where I live.  This state is infested with them.

wife was taking a turn working the state health department call line yesterday. she had a caller accuse her (and the rest of the dept) of being "libtards", and that "a reckoning was coming". dicks are everywhere.

over 15 thousand new cases reported in Florida today. single day record for any state since this began.

yeehaw.

edit: Devos was on the sunday morning shows talking about how important it is that schools open this fall, and how trump may withhold funding for any school that doesn't have in-school classes (which would be illegal, but who cares about that). she compared the US to other countries that have had some success opening schools, and completely ignored the point that the US is having between 3 and 4 ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE more new cases than any of the countries she used as a metric.

70k cases nationally per day, and people are still throwing shit fits about being asked to use a mask. Insane.

An interactive graph showing comparitive death numbers across the states.

it doesn't include information on contracted cases, secondary health effects or other health effects that are worsening due to slower responses from the US health system.
