I have no clue who I want to play as first. My initial thought was Moze, but her voice actor is just kinda 'meh' to me. It didn't seem to add anything. My next thought was Zane, and then Fl4K. I don't really enjoy kill skills, and I'm not a great sniper.

I haven't looked at the skill tree stuff yet, but a mech with a flamethrower attached seems pretty sweet.

A flame thrower would bring you back to Moze.

I haven't heard much of the voice acting but from what I have it goes Fl4k >> Zane > Moze > Amara.  But it such a small sample size that I doubt that will hold up.  In BL2 my least favorite voice acting was Maya, I found her flat and boring.  Still my favorite playing character.  Supposedly BL3 will have a lot more dialog.  That should be a good thing.

First reviews are out. It sounds more of the same. If you are sssith youíll enjoy it. If you normally get bored, youíll get bored.

Also sounds buggy and some bits plain boring even with qol fixes

Pick the review best supports your view:
  • IGN -- 9 -- Amazing -- Borderlands 3 sticks to its guns and outdoes itself with an amazing arsenal of weapons, humor, and missions.
  • Game Informer -- 8 -- A love letter to it's fans -- not much inovation
  • PC Gamer -- 64 (out of 100) -- endless font of bad jokes
  • Destructoid  -- 9 -- Takes the good from BL2 and improves on it
  • US Gamer -- 4 (out of 5)  -- Improves on the formula
  • Shacknews -- 9 -- is an absolute masterpiece that will bring you hours upon hours of fun.
  • Forbes -- 9 -- A bit stuck in the past but is a blast to play
  • XGN (Dutch) -- 95 (out of 100) -- Grand in scale humor on point
  • Vandal (Spanish) -- 9 -- bigger and better -- conservative

Seems pretty positive.  I am sure there are more negative ones out there.

I didn't see any numbers mentioned.  I also saw the same number of reviews as gaming websites who were NOT allowed advance copy due to security (leak) worries.  Lots of companies, some European saying "you might be wondering where our Borderlands 3 review is?" then saying, we haven't been given access, 2K is choosing who gets and who doesn't get to help spread the hype.  That is weird and a bit of a worry.

But game reviews are only part of it.  The real reviews will come out in the next few days/weeks/months from real people.

I'm still playing and enjoying the hell out of a game from 2012. I'll be ok if it's more of the same, with new Vault Hunters and new graphics.

I love the first two games for what they are - I don't need new ground breaking innovation for 3. I hate when games change what made them successful for a sequel.

Agreed.  Which makes me excited about BL3 as everyone, it seems, is saying that it is a better version of BL2.  Life being what it is I have a project that I have worked over a year on going live either this week or next.  So I will probably get a slow start to the game but man am I itching to get my hands on it.

Pre-Sequel was based off the BL2 code.  So yes it was a full game but no it was not really a fully new game.

My local GameStop is having a 9:00pm EDT release tomorrow. I might have to stop over after work and grab it!

Also, a wheel spinner has decided that I'm going to start as Moze. She was the first to 10 spins. Zane and Fl4K were close, with 9 spins each, and Amara started quick with 3 in a row but only ended up with 7 total.

I am planning Moze --> Fl4k --> Zane --> Amara.

Hopefully the game allows me to get through all four.

Just found out that each planet in BL3 will have a different musical composer.  Listening to the different styles is pretty cool.
