Season 16: The Season of Grandeur
« on: December 30, 2018, 11:44:48 PM »
Did I miss the thread?

Season 16: The Season of Grandeur sounds pretty dope maaan. Starts January 18th.
I think I will jump in and play for all the juicy power creep (or leap as the it appears to be).

Special seasonal buff:
Season 16: Season of Grandeur
-The buff for Season of Grandeur has been implemented
-This buff gives all Seasonal players the legendary power from Ring of Royal Grandeur
-This buff does not stack with additional Ring of Royal Grandeur (either equipped or in Kanai's Cube)
-Unlike previous Seasonal buffs, this buff will not apply to Non-Seasonal players
-When completing a Greater Rift level 70 solo for the first time in a Season, a Primal Legendary is guaranteed to drop from the Rift Guardian

Gift sets are:
Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call
Crusader – Seeker of the Light
Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance
Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem
Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar
Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr
Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana

And all sets have had their % damage bonus double, tripled, quadrupled or more in some cases  :o

SO who will be playing?

On PS4.  I will play.

Guaranteed Primal sounds nice.  Not sure if I would do hard core or not.  Leaning toward yes.  No clue which character, though not going to be necro.  Playing Necro right now and trying to finish chapter 4.  Not sure if I will get there in time.

Chapter 4 is easy to finish. With everything turned up and no nerfs anywhere even easier

Interesting.  Since I still play D3 anyway, it's a foregone conclusion that I'll rebirth a Seasonal character.  Just trying to figure out which one.  I usually play Demon Hunters, but Natalya's is one of my least favorite sets.  Barbarian IK is always fun.

I will probably do a Wizard.  Not clue what that set is good for.  Another possibility is the Crusader.

I will play for sure, I'd like to try the buffed sets and see what happens with the free RROG buff.
I'm thinking some of these smart players will come up with some cool uses of the RROG buff.
Plus this may be my only chance to do a GR over a 100.

I'm going to go away from my usual plan of starting with a DH, and I'll be rolling a monk initially on PC. I had a lot of fun as a WoL monk at the end of season 15, and I'm interested to see how the WoL build works with the buffed Inna's set. My goal will be to get to GR70 as fast as possible, so I can be showered with primal drops. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No idea what I'll start with on the Switch.

It sounds like you may be able to level up the fastest within the Darkening of Tristram event. Has anyone heard anything similar?

As usual, folks, please please please feel free to invite me to your games next season. I'm hoping to have DPS and support options, so you have that going for you.  :-*

I'm playing on the PS4.  Any and all of you are welcome to join.

I did the Darkening Event with a fresh Paladin.  Ended the event at level 22 I think.

Yeah so I should probably change my "forgone conclusion" to "probably" or even "maybe".  My son got me hooked on Path of Exile.  I'd heard of it, heard it was fun (reviews are actually quite mixed, but if lots of people found it run, I might too, regardless of how many people don't), so I checked it out.

The past week, I've been spending what normally would have been Diablo time playing Path of Exile.  I'm finally figuring the damned game out and have a Level 41 Rogue or Amazon or whatever they are in that game.  The bow babes.  Apparently there are 10 acts and I just finished Act 3, so I might be at this a while and skip the D3 season.

I enjoyed that game.  Really weird story to it.  Itemization is ok.  The skill tree and constellation thing is also weird.

Yep, story is all over the place, and I'm kinda not paying much attention to it since it tells you in big banner letters what you need to do.  You get to a certain place and a thing comes up saying FIND AND KILL GREESHOBOO or something.  Or you talk to someone who literally has paragraphs of text to read to you, but you can skip it and get a banner saying GO TO THE MOUNTAIN which is what the NPC was taking like ten minutes to get to.  So it's awkward.  But the gameplay is okay.

Hmm.
Okay.  Now I want to play.  Both Path of Exile and D3 again.
I will probably play more MCOC instead though...
