Borderlands Sanctuary
« on: September 29, 2018, 12:36:47 PM »
I figured I might as well start a dedicated thread...doesn't hurt.

So the technique I out lined for getting a bee works.  Just not as smoothly as you would hope.  The video I saw talked about an empty Orc village.  Nope.  Full, and worse, there is a mini-boss orc there that was four levels above me.  So you start and run as fast as you can to the platform with the two treants.  Turn around and kill the orcs that come up with you.  The mini-boss can't get up there.  Kill the two trees and rinse and repeat.

On my third run I actually got two Bees.  The first one dropped from the expected target.  I decided to try it out on the mini-boss and it the process of killing him another tree spawn and dropped the second bee.

Not sure which is better as the second has a second higher recharge delay.

Either way I am happy.

I am going to try Jackenstien again.  What a pain in the ass that boss is.

Lol.

You mean the character that does not need to aim.  She is fun.

For what it is worth I was finally able to kill Jackenstein.  The Bee was useful but more important was farming for a shield that made me immune to shock.  My killing speed with the Bee is so much better right now.

I had the Bee way back before they nerfed it.

It's been so long I don't remember what it was before, but I remember it was stupidly OP.

I am back to questing.  I would say that the Bee is not OP right now.  It makes the fights doable at this point.

I am level 71 heading into Wildlife Expo.  I am going to run Loot Midgets when I get there.  Also hoping to farm some Tubbies.

Yeah, they nerfed the crap out of it. I think I tossed mine afterward, but I don't remember.

Well I picked up a Lyuda during general questing which was nice.  The Pimpernel works better for my character.  Probably going to have to farm for ones that are my level though.

I have officially hit level 72 so now it is mainly about equipment upgrades.  I would like to finish UVHM with my Siren.  I am in the Wilderness Preserves now.

Well I started running Wildlife.  Did two runs, and each run takes me a bit of time at this point.  That said I had some pretty good luck.  I had three Tubbies which netted me Cat Com and the Binder Com.  These are Maya's Unique COMs.  I already have the Legendary Com which is the best of my build.  Also have scored a ton of Ancient Relics see below for the one that I am using.  I am really hoping to find a Bone of the Ancient Corrosive.  As that amps my corrosive damage which Sirens do a ton of and it reduces my action cooldown.  I found a Bone but it was for fire.  I also found my first pearl, see below.

Need to find out if that Pearl is any good.  Somehow I doubt it.

Also i am going back to Pirate DLC to get more Pimps.  The one that I am using is 12 levels old.  In the name of full disclosure I am going to re-enable the quest that rewards it using a program called Gib (I think).  There is no way in hell I have the time to reset all my progress just to get one weapon.  I would rather not but the weapon I need is not a regular drop.

OMG U D1RTTY H4XX000r!!

If they have a RNG thing connected to you needing to replay the bloody game if you miss out, thats shit.  Especially if that RNG thing is something people will desire vs you get something and it doesn't matter what you get or miss out

but still, lets ban sssith.

Given how good the Pimpernel and Sandhawk are, I don't think it necessarily terrible that you need to replay the game to get a fresh reward. However, life is short and replaying the game isn't the sort of farming which appeals to me.

So for combating RNG on the Pimp and other quest rewards, just do a soft reset.

1) Save before you hand the quest in.
2) Back-up that character save.
3) Load the game and hand the quest in, get the item.
4) Transfer the item to a mule.
5) Quit the game.
6) Copy your back-up save back in.
7) Repeat until you're satisfied with the item.

I've started working through Tiny Tina's DLC just to get the key farms ready for when I hit level 72. I'm slowly working my way to the point in the DLC where  I can farm the magic missile grenade mod and I have the Bee farm already opened up. I might try for a bee when I hit level 63, just to speed levelling up a bit.

Clearing my way to the final two treants on the other side of the Orc camp, I encountered The Duke of Ork, who proceeded to give me a kicking. His level was obscenely high compared to mine, which probably explains why I couldn't hurt him. Will have to take a screenie if I encounter him again.

Another thing that struck me is that Tiny Tina's DLC is really, REALLY, generous with ammo chests. Which is handy because my Lyuda's go through a lot of ammo.

For Zero is the Lyuda better than the Pimp?

The Pimp and Sandhawk are amazing for Maya.  But I have a lot of time put into getting my Maya where she is at.  Really don't have time to waste doing that much of the game again.  I might give your method a try.

Generally the Pimp is better. It has eight unlisted secondary projectiles so the bore damage potential is huge.
Advantages of the Lyuda are that its easier to farm for and I think has a faster rate of fire.

I've now found two pearls, both of them are Beatcats.  And yes they do suck.

Farming the preserve has been very profitable.  At this point I'm looking bone of the ancient corrosive and it hasn't dropped.  Just about every other ancient relic has.

Once it does I'll move on.

Well I got my Bone of the Ancients.  Now I need to figure out where to stash all these relics.
