I thought it was interesting. The examples he used did nothing for me. That said there is
story about Bostoners using racial slurs in Fenway park that did hit the mark for me. In particular when CC. Sebastia, of the New York Yankees, decided to chime in on the subject. My knee jerk reaction was to think that this Yankee should shut his pie hole. Honestly, even if he is part of Yankees, he should never hear that from any fan at any time. Sure boo him to hell. Call him fat, I have no problem with that. But racial slurs have no place anywhere. Another immediate thought was that other towns are the same. Again, why in the f* would that matter? Still completely unacceptable. I just didn't want to think about that happening in one of my favorite places in the world. I love Fenway to death. To me there is just something incredibly special about seeing a game there. So many special memories there that my initial reaction to that story was completely unacceptable.
Ultimately we all have to more meta-cogitative at time. A little self examination is always needed, and for many it is not something that comes naturally. I consider my self to be good at it, but there is certainly room for improvement. And that is what we should all be striving for.
