This game is really fun, guys.

Also, for those who were put off by pvp? It's basically opt-in. If another player attacks you, you have like 99% damage reduction until/unless you attack back. Basically, shooting at someone is the equivalent of sending a duel request in most MMOs. If you don't want to, just don't bother.

That said, I have found people are generally helpful. I haven't personally encountered a complete twit yet.

Also, the servers are very low population. I had a server to myself for like 3 hours one time. Most of the time there seems to be 6-10 other people on the server... spread across the entire map (which is massive). You can play for ages and not see another player if want.

That actually sounds decent.  Is there any story elements/quests to the experience or is it just exploring and setting up stuff?

There's no live human NPCs. There are lots of robots. And lots of quests and stories. It's just that it's more discovery-based than in-your-face-do-this-now. You'll come upon a place and get quests based on that place, and discovering what happened there, or dealing with robots-gone-bad. And the "main quest" will take you all over but seems to be very "whenever you feel like it." That is, there's no sense of false urgency like in FO4 where you would WANT to do all this other stuff but in the back of your mind would always be that nagging sense that if this were real life, you'd be bee-lining the main quest because of course you would.

There is a metric shitload of the environmental storytelling that Bethesda does best. You know, where you learn about events and people through the things/notes/tapes you find, and it's often up to you to piece it together.

Also, the first non-starter weapon I found in the beta was a pitchfork modified to have 3 barbed tines and flames attached. That's pretty amazing. LOL

It is too bad that the game is getting hammered.

I have to admit, reading about it online makes me in no way ever want to touch this thing with a 10 foot pole.

Yeah, reviewers are idiots. All I read are bad things everywhere, yet the 5 people I know IRL who are playing this (counting me) are having a great time. I don't get it.

Nature of the business I expect. I've played games and enjoyed them thoroughly, only to find an undercurrent of hate and negative reviews, citing issues I never experienced.

Getting more interested in FO76 because of you though Pixie

Also, sometimes JUST AN AXE isn't quite good enough.
