Also, the characters are way cooler looking than Diablo 3. :P

There's character customization (hair style/color, face shape, skin color, eye color), and a rich transmog/dye system.

Not enough pink

TELL ME ABOUT IT!

I've gotten so many dye drops and not a single pink one. Meanwhile, friends keep posting pics of all the pink dyes they're finding. It's killing meeeeeeee! lol

A mix of Diablo PoE sounds good.  I will have to check it out.

It's a bit on the buggy side right now.

Okay, a lot.

Okay, okay... it's the buggiest thing since Troika Games shut down.

But it's so damn fun. I've put 30 hours into it since Thursday. Can't stop playing. So fun. Such epic boss fights. Such great cosmetics. Great voice actors. Great cinematics.

Edit:
Here's the passive skill tree, not to be confused with active skills. The three concentric rings of the passive tree can be rotated independently to create new/interesting skill pathways. Insane number of build possibilities here.

So I take it that the "Mixed" reviews on steam are a result of said bug feast? The other day the review where on Mostly Positive.

I guess I should wait a bit.

And that passive tree is almost as crazy, or maybe more, than PoE.

Most of the review bombing (it went from like 98% positive to 62% in 2 days) is because they wildly underestimated the burst in popularity (they went from 1900 concurrent players to 62,000 on release day) and the servers shit all over themselves. And when they tried to fix it, they made things worse. They're still struggling with it.

I play offline, so this didn't really ever affect me.

But yes, a lot is the bugs, too.

In some ways not too surprising.  I'd heard of the game many years ago, but had forgotten about it.  For all those who have burnt out of D3 and done a lot of PoE, Grim Dawn etc, having something fresh and new would be a big draw card.   Its a great time to release something in the genre.

Hopefully in the next weeks and months the regular players tell a good story about it

It's a studio of 13 dudes who have been working on this thing forever now. I am willing to cut them a lot of slack.

Have I mentioned how much fun I'm having though? Just pure fun?

Also, these armors. My goodness.

Agreed, Wolcen is definitely fun, if quite buggy. I think I made it to level 11 in both online and offline with a wizard and archer, respectively. I'm going to take a couple weeks off to see if they can squish some of the bugs.

On the Switch front I have been playing West of Loathing, which is great fun if you are after a low-key RPG with lots of amusing quests and flavor text.

That seems like a pretty good review.  I am going to get this, the question is when.

Oh, I also pre-ordered Rune Factory 4 for the Switch, which comes out next week. I'm hoping that will keep me entertained until Animal Crossing drops next month.
