Avengers Endgame
« on: April 14, 2019, 11:11:06 PM »
How do we not have a thread for the movie I'm most looking forward to this year?   I only saw Infinity War and then of course Captain Marvel recently, so I'm quite excited to see where it all ends up.   Infinity war was great how it had so many characters and things going on without slowing down

I hope Captain Marvel comes out on video before. I didn't get a chance to see it in theater.

I've avoided the trailer so far, somehow.  I mean, I know how it ended in the comics, so to some degree I'm already spoiled, but I'm very interested in seeing how they handle their version.

Lego, its funny you talk about on video.  I hear she made a big impact on Blockbuster at the time. There are a bunch of the main actors out of contract after this .. so who knows.

I need to fire up the last Avengers movie before Endgame comes out. I really want to watch it with my wife so I can see her reaction when Thanos snaps his fingers.

I may be a bad person.

I feel like there are a couple of Marvel movies I need to catch up on.  Captain Marvel is the most obvious one that comes to mind.  I am looking forward to the movie but not dying to see it.  A bit burnt out on superhero movies.  Netflix has Infinity Wars if you need to see that one.

lol

my wife seems more excited than i am about the next movie, but she loved captain marvel and is eager to see more of that character. usually hard to get her to see anything in the theater much less a comic book movie, but she's even talked about going back and watching a couple of the previous movies in preparation. highly unlikely that'll actually happen, i think.

fwiw, the trailer for this gives away less than is the norm these days.

I saw Captain Marvel last night.  Still in theaters around here, which was a pleasant surprise.  The movie was good but nothing original or noteworthy.  I think I am all caught up on the Marvel movies and ready to see End Game.

Saw it just now.  Won't say anything more than I'm in a really good mood.

Have also seen it.  Tried to get it in as quickly as possible to avoid spoilers.

Mrs. Orbert and I have seen all the MCU movies, mostly in the order released, but the timing for Captain Marvel was just bad.  I was kinda bummed to not have caught it in the theaters because I knew it would be too early to be out on video yet, but we decided that with like 300 characters, maybe missing one of the origin movies wouldn't be a huge deal.

Hopefully without spoiling things too much, I'll say that Endgame was good, and while it may have been helpful to have Captain Marvel's backstory, I don't feel like we missed a whole lot.

We found out that there are still theaters showing Captain Marvel, but whatever; we went for the big one anyway and will catch Captain Marvel on video.

Its mainly an origin story like most of the others.  Where the character started off, what they went through, and where they ended up which you saw their abilities I'm sure.  Also it had a whole lot of Fury backstory and a bit of Coulson.    Some other bits without risking spoilers

Yeah, I heard that Fury figures rather prominently, since it's set in the past and thus before "the Avengers initiative" and all that.  Didn't know about Coulson, but I like him, too, so that's cool.
