Borderlands 3
« on: March 27, 2019, 05:22:39 PM »
The teaser trailer is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkHNbsQMxPI

There is a lot of hidden info in this one.

It includes a golden key code c35tb-wsgst-txbrk-jjhgh - It supposedly unlocks more keys and a skin in BL2.

I can't wait for this game.

Lots of leaked info about this. Some neat stuff.

Melee-oriented Siren? Yes please.

Customizing guns? Sounds cool.
Other planets!
Multiple action skills instead of one! Woo!

Tiny Tina is 18 now. I fully expect them to sexualize her now, unfortunately.

Possibly Lilith gone bad? I'm not sure I believe that one.

"Count the sirens"... I count 4. Can we expect to meet the other two? Who knows.

The only thing that gives me heart palpitations is that I'm pretty sure this is gonna be Epic store exclusive, based on Randy Asshole Pitchford's twitter account, and that means I can't play it for a year after it releases.

Because you refuse to get it there?

This might force me to do it.

I refuse to support their anti-consumer approach to PC gaming and their Chinese spyware launcher.

Yeah I'll wait for a Steam release. I wonder how much the release via Epic will hurt the PC sales?

Hard to say. But randy will compare console figures to previous and see a big drop off on pc for all those who donít think like sssith. A bunch of epic store users donít have steam. If you had borderlands on of before. Then you had steam I think

First, let's hope it is not an Epic exclusive.  I guess we will find out today.

There are not many games that I would be getting day 1.  Tomb Raider, Diablo, Borderlands, Mass Effect, Dragon Age might be it.  So waiting a year might not be the end of the world but I am really looking forward to this game.  On the positive side, I have enough gaming available to me on PS4 to catch up no to keep me going for a year.

On the Epic launcher side, we have this thread that is worth a read. https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoenixPoint/comments/b0rxdq/epic_game_store_spyware_tracking_and_you/

The sad side of the equation is that many companies, not just Chinese ones, are doing nefarious things with your data.  It is really out of control what is going on.  I mainly work in the eCommerce space which is pretty bad.  But they are amateur hour when compared to Facebook, Google, MS.  Then you have all of the state-sponsored shit which is a different level of bad and intrusive.  US, Russia, China are all guilty in this space.  The problem with China is that it can dip its fingers into company business which erodes the trust of any Chinese company.  You only have to look at  Huwaei and Lenovo to see the lack of trust that exists.

Honestly, it is to the point that I do not believe any company has our best interest at heart.  Just look to Google and the whole 'Do no evil.' fiasco.

I think this is an interesting topic but one that ultimately does not belong here.  Can we spin this out to the lounge?

Unsurprisingly it is official!

Borderland 3 trailer.  No date as of yet.

Looks good.  Also looks like they did not stray far from the IP.

Of note 4k textures for free for BL2 and BL1.  I need to confirm it is for BL1 also.

BL1 is getting a free GOTY upgrade, with a few other tweaks/improvements, such as a minimap and auto-pickup of items.

BL2/TPS upgrade also includes some nice graphics improvements like better AA and shadows. I'll probably reinstall it this weekend.

BL3 trailer was cool. Tiny Tina looks awesome... love her bunny ears. Wondering if the kid is Maya's kid. That ability of the new Siren was awesome. Want.

"More info on April 3" which is when I expect them to drop the Epic exclusive bombshell.

I saw a tweet that seems to indicate that the BL1 fixes are not yet done but that the HD update for BL2 is April 3.

April 3rd is also, supposedly, when we will find out the launch date.  Which, presumably, will be when we will find out about the platform it is launching on.

I listened to the reveal today.  Pitchford actually spoke about steam in reference to another game and how they have a good relationship with Steam.  Didn't quite say it in those words so I am possibly reading too much into that.

Ah cool. I didn't listen to it, partly because I was at work but mostly because Pitchford is a tool and I couldn't listen to him for an hour. lol

Here's hoping for a steam release... and soon. :D

He is a tool.  He did a magic trick for about twenty minutes as a promotion for the board game that his son is selling.

I am not clear if the BL1 remaster is available for everyone or just the people who buy the new package.  Does anyone have those details?

The BL3 trailer looks awesome.  If you want more of the same.  Which I do.

If you own BL1 on Steam you will get an automatic upgrade to the GOTY edition with the new HD res.

Release date 10.1.2019.

Or is it 1.10.2020?

lol

The numbers 10 then 1 appear in the teaser, so fans are jumping to that conclusion.  10.1.2019 would be the 10th anniversary for the first one so there might be something there.
