Greetings!
« on: February 25, 2019, 09:49:51 PM »
Really nice to see some familiar faces. How you doing?

Me, I'm gray and pushing 60 with a son who's pushing 6. In a pretty good spot, overall, methinks, but the wife might argue.

I hike when possible, play dnd or poker with college buddies, and get tipsy on 1.5 glasses of wine or a couple (dark) beers. Haven't had knees since 1983, but somehow managed an uphill half marathon earlier this decade.

There's probably more that could be said, but we'll have time for that. Your turn.

Great to see you!

I'm pushing 60 with a son who just turned 10! I have knees but haven't seen them in a decade or two due to the ever increasing vastness of my circumference.

I try not to stand in one spot for too long because at this age I find I get stuck like food left too long on a counter.

Still playing a bit of D3 and trying to start a new business with my wife recruiting auditors!

Glad to see you back!

Nice to hear from you DnT!  I'm getting gray and pushing 50 (still a few years to go :) ), married, with 3 kids ranging from 12-18.  I can't imagine being in my 50s and having a baby again!!!

I still play D2 and D3.  I remember you and SSB being two of the main 1.07 players in our little community back in the day.  You gave me a lot of advice on these forums.

I'll bite.  Crossed the 50 threshold last year.  Two kids, 15 and 17.  One trying to decide where to go to college the other cruising through high school.  Can I just add that I hate the high school years.  Been married for 21 years.  Still working as a software engineer though lately I am feeling a bit burnt out on it.

Hobbies mainly revolve around gaming, running/hiking (though lately haven't done enough), and some snowboarding thrown in.  Need to find an over 50 soccer league.  Need to find a DND group.  Haven't played since my teen years and I would love to get back into it.

Greetings.  I'm fast approaching 38 this year! My girls are now 5 and 3 and noticing the older one grow as she is starting school.  I still have working knees (and can see them) but haven't had a colon for a while.   now. However a couple of times a week I get to see some of my small intestine.  So you win some/lose some.   I generally don't drink much, I just find it so overrated.  I had a few Belgium beers in Belgium last week though.

I'm about to start some postgraduate study and about to delete a mobile game off my phone I've played constantly for the past 18 months.  Looking forward to more spare time from that.  Haven't done too much gaming apart from that, partly with pc playing up, and lego excitement

Greetings everybody,  I'm still around now and then.  Pushing 67, my two kids are grown ups now too.  5 grandkids, and maybe a great one in the near future.  I had to quit gaming for a bit my hands were so bad, in pain after only ten minutes.  Had carpal tunnel surgery last year and what a world of difference, still done get on to much.  I'm just retired up here, helping out my older brother who is wheelchair bond.  Good to see that most of you are still around.  Peace and goodwill.  Just wish this cold winter would get over.  Later all,  I poke my head in once in awhile, but I don't post often.

guess pushing 68 :(

Northstarzon! Great to see you around. We just got a major snow dump, I shoveled 3 times yesterday. Can't wait for spring.

DNT! Great to see you again! I've got a couple kids now too, still married and trying to kick ass at life. As far as games go, I've been messing around with Street Fighter V, and my brothers have roped me into playing Anthem with them (though it doesn't look like a Liq game, we shall see). Good to hear from you though!

Hello peoples. I'm older than some and younger than others. Yay. Sneaking up on 47. Kids are 26 and 22 and the older one just got engaged. Ugh, time, where does it go?

Divorced 2 years ago after 17 years together. Living like a hermit now. Do what I want, when I want; eat what I want, buy what I want... it's not all bad. Bit lonely, though.

I work a shitty job that pays decently enough to live on and have play money and doesn't require a ton of extracurricular time. I'd like to make more/like my job more/etc but meh, here I am.

I mostly play video games in my many off hours. And I still take potshots at writing from time to time until something distracts me and I abandon a project to start a new one.

Also: fuck snow. I'm tired of it. I'd like to slap younger me that thought moving back to Maine was a fine idea. :P

Wow, guys!  It feel like we just sat down over coffee or beers and had a good chat. Thank you for that.

Cluck Kent, you cracked me up with that!  Envisioning a utensil, perhaps an enormous spatula, to help shift people who have congealed in place.

Mn4nu:  I gave you advice?  Was it any good?!? Ha!
Yes, great times with you and SSB, way back when. I haven't played in ages but the enthusiasm (i.e. insanity) around here is eroding my resistance.

@Sssith:  we play first edition AD&D and you are welcome to drop in on a game any time you're in southern Arizona. In fact, a couple buddies flew in from LA two weeks ago to continue a campaign that started in the 80s. That's not typical, but it's not the first time, either.

Hey ya, Tim!  Sorry to hear about your intestine, but really glad it didn't stop you from enjoying your travels. I myself had a Guinness after touring their factory in Dublin. Scratch one off the bucket list.

As for you Mr. NorthStarZon, it's great to hear from you! Peace and goodwill to you as well.
This business with wrists and computers, sometimes I just don't see how people do it.  Mine burned up playing Eye of The Beholder back in the day. Glad that you were able to get some help with it.

Thanks for the good word, Orbert!

Liquid Evil, good to see you!  Trying to kick ass at life?  What an excellent philosophy!  The only game I've played recently is kakuro, and far too much of that. The lure of it being good for one's mental acuity is a convenient built-in rationale for such a time sink.

Pixie:  Were you the one who penned the excellent "Rose" story?  Sorry if I got that wrong. As for having launched your kids, great job!  You probably still have reflexes enough and mad skillz to pwn those punks on the console when they visit. ;-)

All this discussion of life in general and kids in particular is really thought-provoking. It's neat to imagine what would be different with a few changes to the old timeline.

Cheers!

Been married 16 years now, with her for 18. Both of my kids have graduated. Where the hell did the time go?

Only recently got back into real gaming. Bought a light gaming capable laptop. Also bought Skyrim on my 4th device lol.

I've gotten into the habit of listening to old "wierd" fiction on youtube. Seabury Quinn, Robert E. Howard, HP Lovecraft, etc... For the most part the stories are quite good.

Working in the grocery business. Been at this job for 3 years now. I mostly like it but like any retail job, it will really make you hate people.

I'm known as the calm, unflappable one. I actually got minorly irritated at work the other day and it freaked everyone out because I'm always cool.

Playing Skyrim, D3, and Guild Wars 2 right now. I'm allowing myself 1 full priced game a month, so this month's will be Guild Wars 1. I really miss it, and want to go thru it one last time.

Good to hear from you again!

Hi Guys!!
Just last year celebrated our 25th marrige anniversary, also signifying we met 35 years ago then. I am 55 years old now.
2 grown boys, still living @./
I am still a network engineer, somehow having avoided demonstrating any semblance of management skills. Which is just the way I like it.
I work for one of the two largest ISPs in the Netherlands.
I rarely game anymore. I may fire up D3 once a year or so,  but flyfishing and flytying, photography, some fitness and a fair amount of family duties keep me busy enough. And reading.
Still like cooking. Firing up the BBQ and such.
Great to see so many of you still frequenting these fora, though I must admit I am more of a lurker then a contributor. *Note to self: Fix that*
