PCs / Re: Favorite Anti-virus Software?

I just use Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, and Common Sense 2018. That seems to work well enough for me. :)

PCs / Latest build of Ubuntu is a huge improvement.
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:54:44 PM »
It's not an LTS release, and it still has a few minor flaws, but I find it to be a huge improvement over the old versions. I used to use Mint because I hated the Ubuntu GUI, but there's so much more customization now. The few things I hated are either gone or I myself can adjust them to my liking. I can't complain. :)

PCs / New Firefox
« on: November 18, 2017, 02:34:15 PM »
Is anyone using the latest build of Firefox? I've been a diehard Chrome fan for a last few years when Firefox (in my view) was really slipping behind. I heard from a good source to give it another go, and since I just upgraded my hard drive, it seemed like a good time. So far, It's quite speedy, has more native options to customize it how I like it, and overall... it's just better.

If you haven't tried Firefox in a while, you may want to give it another look. Now for them to just update the Android version so I can switch fully. :)

General Discussion / Re: Work and Mental Health
« on: April 08, 2017, 09:17:30 PM »
I told my last employer about my mental health issues, as the job was exacerbating them. They made no effort to accommodate my needs, even with doctor's notes and even FMLA for a leave of absence. In the end, they fired me. Only employer I ever told about those issues. Only employer to fire me.

In the end, it's for the best. I was out of work for 3 months, but I found a much better job with better pay. I work in a quiet office, and I'm by myself about 90% of my day.

So, my advice is try to find something else if you need to. :)

A nice refresher is always a good thing. The timing of my arrival simply made me nervous. I quickly got over it, though. :)

Happened to be doing some browser maintenance and I saw the bookmark here. I was all "Well, I haven't been there in a while. I'd better stop in and say hi." Then fear set in before my brain had the time to register what had happened.

Glad to see Gamersoasis is still around. I was a bit worried for a moment! :)
