1 old friend...Isenhart.  I have fond memories of collecting the cases.  I think I had around 200 of them at one point.

POE update time!

I am playing SSF (Solo-Self Found).  Which means that finding the build defining item can be very tough.  Right now I am playing a Summoner, and the item needed is 'Closed Helmet' called  'The Baron'.  Think TC3.  A low level item that is difficult to farm because the base item only has a narrow window where it can drop.  But it is easily the most important item for my build.  On a whim I decided to run a low level area that is in that range.  The final boss of that area did this for me:

Easily the best find I have had in the game so far.  Super lucky, and I had resigned myself from ever finding it.

If anyone is curious to see my characters.

If you do look check out this:

edit: Bummer. I thought the link was public.

That is my collection of unique items that I have found.  I am able to store one of each unique item.  I wish all ARPGs had something like this.  I have crossed 20% self-found uniques.

I hope you guys are ready for the avalanche of nUb questions.  The amount that I have forgotten about this game is impressive.

Open Evil Urns.

That is the secret.

Is there any down side to going ladder?  You are starting fresh no matter what.

So the game is going to have cross play, which is kind of cool.  I will be able to play on my PC and then switch to PS4 if I want.  This is being enabled by the characters being saved online.  Which begs the question of how muling is going to work.  Anyone have any idea?

So we now know that it will drop on or before Sept 24.  If you pre-purchase by a certain point you will be able to join the Open Beta.

Bosses telegraphing their next move is a good mechanic.  Not sure that screaming it is, but that is arguable.  In POE there is a character that says something that indicates a certain attack.  What is super annoying is that I don't, so far, see a way to avoid that attack.

Glad that you, overall, seemed to like BL:PS.  I have never end enjoyed those wave, after wave, after wave DLCs that the BL series seems to like.

As for me I am still chugging through POE end game.  I would say that I finished the first third of the end game, with each third getting exponentially more difficult.  POE has these trials of ascendancy.  Completing them gives you access to special skills, different for each class.  Within each class it allows for a lot of choice.  I think there are four or five different trials.  The last level of these has six things you need to complete to get access.  It is random when those things appear.  I am way over due for being able to find the last of those six things.  Super annoying.

I have also been hunting a specific item to unlock a build that I am doing.  It is really tough to target certain unique items.  I have almost found 20% of all unique items in the game.  I bought a storage bin that helps with the tracking of finding all the uniques.  It a little blows my mind that other games don't have that feature available.

It took forever to get to the PC though.

Which will come first?  PS5 remodel and price drop, or Horizon FW arriving on PC?

It will be fun to play the game in San Fran.  Living in the East Bay my home is probably a ruin somewhere within that map.  It is pretty amusing to see the area as a tropical lush land.

We might have the first must play game of the PS5.

It looks gorgeous.  I do wonder if there will be something innovative about the game.

The first one is just an awesome gaming experience.  Game play wise the first one did have the standard open world progression.  It was fun but not that innovative.  I do wonder if the new game will improve on that.

The skills in that game are pretty excellent, easily the best thing about the game.

The game as a whole never grabbed me the way the other BL games did.  I found the quests in the game to be mostly lack luster.  That send the end fight was interesting.

I have "finished" my second character in POE self found.  This time I did a Scion Cyclone build with a target of switching to a Flicker build if I get an a certain item to drop.

I am now closing in on 300 hours played and I am just now exiting the nUb stage.  There are still things in the game that I do not get and even with some of the things that I mostly understand there is a lot of nuance that I still need to figure out.

That said the game is really good for people who like ARPGs, which is most of us here.

I do not consider this game free, or even cheap for that matter.  I guess it is free if you just want to play it to the end one time.  Anything more than that and you are going to need to buy the premium tabs.  At this point I have most, not all, the tabs that are needed.  I could easily spend another sixty to have no space worries.

Within a year POE 2 will be out.  Unfortunately, it is a stretch to call it a new game, as it is just going to a massive update to the current game.  I won't pretend to know all the details, but it is basically going to update many of the core mechanics, while introducing a new campaign.  I think it is still going to have the same character classes.  But on the positive side all the premium tabs that you might have purchased will carry over to the new version.

Hopefully the new version will simplify many things.  While I can admire the depth of the game I think one of the negatives is how complex the game is once you scratch the surface.

Anyway, onward and upward with my current charcter.

Goodness you are on a roll.
