General Discussion / Profile [2]

So in the little blue bar under your Avatar we have a menu system:

Home -- Help -- Search -- Profile -- My Messages -- Members -- Logout

Now maybe I am being an idiot but next to my Profile I have [2].  That wasn't there at all a while back.  Yesterday it had [1].  Today [2].  I have no idea what it indicates.  If I try clicking on it I get nothing.

Gaming General / BL2 Play Through
« on: April 03, 2019, 11:09:24 AM »
Any of you good people interested in forming a group to play through BL2 in multiplayer?

The idea is to choose a night and play two hours or so every week?  It should be a good time to do with the fresh graphics upgrade.

The teaser trailer is here:

There is a lot of hidden info in this one.

It includes a golden key code c35tb-wsgst-txbrk-jjhgh - It supposedly unlocks more keys and a skin in BL2.

I can't wait for this game.

Google's gaming platform if you haven't heard.

Interestingly they are talking that this platform is going to work without local hardware and installation.  I find this difficult to believe that they have figured out a way to stream the performance necessary to make this work.  Conceptually this has been something I knew people were trying to tackle, but I have trouble believing that it has been solved.  Shit, I feel like I can't always count on Xfinity to give me a stable stream and they are the fastest ISP in my area.

So right now I am filing this under cool idea, but I will believe it when I see it.

Proving once and for all that the whole is greater than the parts.  Now we just need a 15 to 20 hour movie covering the whole story.

Movies & TV / Anime Recommendation
« on: February 21, 2019, 06:38:17 PM »
I have limited anime experience. I've seen Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Avatar (if you count that).  All were good and I'm looking for more.  Ideally it wouldn't be available on Netflix.  As a side note I am not a big fan of anime that sexualizes the female characters  when they look like they are teens.

Any suggestions?

Just realized that we didn't have one of these threads.  Narsica let me down with regard to that.  :P

You might recognize that song from Silence of the Lambs.  So good.

Diablo 3 / D3 on PS4
« on: December 10, 2018, 09:52:59 AM »
So I got this.  Mainly for the coach coop.  For the coop is fun in D3.

I always new that D3 was design for the console and holy cow is that right.  The game plays better on the Ps4.  Graphics are meant for the big TV.  Coop, at least couch coop, smooth as butter.

It was obvious that the skill system was designed for console and that also works well.  Inventory system is so much better.

WTF.  IMO it really is night and day.

So much excitement!

This looks freaking amazing.  And if there is a company I trust to deliver it is Obsidian!

Game wise 2019 is shaping up brilliantly!  This and BL3 (fingers crossed).  I will be busy with these games!

Gaming General / PS4 Games

Hey all...I know.  Wrong crowd here for the most part.

Probably going to finally get the PS4 I think.  The price has dipped to 199 and it has a bunch of games that I would like to play.  Just looking for more ideas.

Diablo <-- local coop.  Are there any other games like this?
Uncharted 4 <-- series rocks.
Horizon Zero Dawn <-- seems awesome, is there a reason to get the enhanced edition?
Detroit Become Human <-- Any good?  Seems interesting
Borderlands 2 <-- I have a friend who is interested in MP play.

Any other ideas?

Diablo 3 / Diablo 4?

I am sure you people have seen the rumors about a big announcement coming for Diablo.  Somehow I doubt that it will be D4.  I do wonder what the news will be.  Diablo pen and paper I bet!   :P

Gaming General / Borderlands Sanctuary

I figured I might as well start a dedicated thread...doesn't hurt.

So the technique I out lined for getting a bee works.  Just not as smoothly as you would hope.  The video I saw talked about an empty Orc village.  Nope.  Full, and worse, there is a mini-boss orc there that was four levels above me.  So you start and run as fast as you can to the platform with the two treants.  Turn around and kill the orcs that come up with you.  The mini-boss can't get up there.  Kill the two trees and rinse and repeat.

On my third run I actually got two Bees.  The first one dropped from the expected target.  I decided to try it out on the mini-boss and it the process of killing him another tree spawn and dropped the second bee.

Not sure which is better as the second has a second higher recharge delay.

Either way I am happy.

I am going to try Jackenstien again.  What a pain in the ass that boss is.

Sports / World Cup 2018
« on: June 14, 2018, 09:58:17 AM »
It's that time bitches!

I love the world cup.  My only regret about is that there are few teams that have a legit chance of winning.  I am always hoping for a first time winner.

IMO these are the teams with Legit chances to win who aren't in the obvious group.
  • Colombia
  • Belgium
  • Portugal
  • Mexico -- I don't really think they have a chance.
  • England -- Really don't belong on this list since they have won it before...but it has been something like 50 years
  • Croatia

Now is the list of teams mostly likely to win (in order of likelyhood):
  • Brazil
  • Germany
  • France
  • Spain
  • Argentina
  • Uruguay -- They have won it before...but chance wise they belong in the first group

Personally I am hoping for Colombia, highly unlikely (I was born there for those of you that don't know.)  After that I would enjoy a team from the first list.  In the second list I used to love Brazil, but I am a bit sick of them.  I lived in Brazil for six years so I do have an attachment to them.  Argentina hasn't won in a while so I wouldn't mind them.  After that I am really not a fan of any of them.  Germany is a really impressive team and I really hope they don't win.  A bit sick of Spain.  With Uruguay I really hate their best player Suarez; such an asshole.

First game starts in 2 minutes!

The Argument Chamber / Maine's Election Idea
« on: June 07, 2018, 02:20:26 PM »

WTF are you up to Pixie? :P

Seems much to complicated to really work out.  I applaud the goal of encouraging people vote for people that they might not otherwise vote for, but this doesn't seem to be the way to do it.

California primaries are now pretty interesting in that the top two candidates go on to the general election, regards of the party affiliation.  The goal was also to encourage people vote differently.

It will be interesting to see if these measures help.
