Diablo 3 / Re: Season 16: The Season of Grandeur
« on: February 10, 2019, 10:41:07 PM »
Been playing a fair bit of multiplayer, got lucky and found some random players that dragged me through higher GRs to get some gear. Just managed to solo a GR60 to unlock T13 MP.

Still using Nats set with Strafe (played all other sets on other seasons). Might try N6M4 when GRs get harder apparently that's the goods.

No notable finds unfortunately :(

Rolled with a DH this season, but only up to Chapter 3, having difficulty getting away from Skyrim tbh

Just finished the last season of Better Call Saul. Very entertaining viewing, fairly slow pace, much akin to Breaking Bad (which is to be expected). Enjoyed seeing the 'backstory' of how Jimmy McGill became Saul Goodman BUT the most interesting character I thought, was Mike. He was the highlight of the show for me and I always looked forward to his scenes. Overall a great show.

To fill the TV show vacuum I started The Wire again. 3rd run through and still love it, hard to beat for a gritty cop drama that also focuses on the character development of the criminals involved.

Watching Orphan Black on Netflix with the wife, which is surprisingly entertaining, despite the kinda ridiculous premise. Good pacing, interesting characters and a catchy plot.

Did I miss the thread?

Season 16: The Season of Grandeur sounds pretty dope maaan. Starts January 18th.
I think I will jump in and play for all the juicy power creep (or leap as the it appears to be).

Special seasonal buff:
Season 16: Season of Grandeur
-The buff for Season of Grandeur has been implemented
-This buff gives all Seasonal players the legendary power from Ring of Royal Grandeur
-This buff does not stack with additional Ring of Royal Grandeur (either equipped or in Kanai's Cube)
-Unlike previous Seasonal buffs, this buff will not apply to Non-Seasonal players
-When completing a Greater Rift level 70 solo for the first time in a Season, a Primal Legendary is guaranteed to drop from the Rift Guardian

Gift sets are:
Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call
Crusader – Seeker of the Light
Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance
Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem
Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar
Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr
Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana

And all sets have had their % damage bonus double, tripled, quadrupled or more in some cases  :o

SO who will be playing?

Finally found a mobile game I like!

Command & Conquer: Rivals

It is an RTS, based on unit engagement on a hex based map. The maps vary, heaps of units to play with, start with GDI and unlock NOD at lvl9 (doesnt take too long). All players are human after the tutorial, but I have never not gotten an opponent in under 20-30 seconds.

Gameplay is a fairly basic rock/paper/scissors dynamic (infantry/vehicles/aircraft). Very satisfying to outplay your opponent, which relies on having a flexible loadout of 6 units and adapting to your opponent.

There is a crate/card system for unit acquisition and upgrades (common/rare/epic).

Also the units are quite nostalgic for me, as I spent a lot of time on C&C games growing up, mostly Tiberian Sun, which I tried to play again recently but can't get it working properly on Win7 :(

Mutant Year Zero is amazing. That will be all, thank you.

I've been ogling that myself. Looks good. Bit pricey atm.
Does it actually play like XCOM as Ive heard?

It absolutely does. The HUD is even practically ripped straight out of XCOM. You will be in very familiar ground, mechanically.

The game is stupidly gorgeous. The voice-acting is great. The story is engaging so far. The mechanics are solid. Super highly recommended.

Pic 2!
Stylish visor on a duck! (it's actually called "Stylish Visor")

Looks good, thanks for screenshots.
Definitely on my list for when I finish my current XCOM2 obsession

Also, sometimes JUST AN AXE isn't quite good enough.

Double spikey axe.

Yeah, reviewers are idiots. All I read are bad things everywhere, yet the 5 people I know IRL who are playing this (counting me) are having a great time. I don't get it.

Nature of the business I expect. I've played games and enjoyed them thoroughly, only to find an undercurrent of hate and negative reviews, citing issues I never experienced.

Getting more interested in FO76 because of you though Pixie

Watched the Hateful Eight today on my day off. 3 hours wasted down the shitter.

Damn. Been looking forward to watching that.

Why didn't you like it?

Will that accept my old D2 serial? I should think so

watched the predator and venom recently. both pretty cheesy. venom was better.

Ugh I actually agree. I am a Predator fan through and through, I remember watching the first movie when I was about 13 and was hooked. But sadly the latest offering didn't do much for me at all. Dumb sequel naming aside, it had a more AvP movie feel to it, than a Predator movie. There was no building of suspense, just action for the sake of action. I guess it advanced the cinematic storyline, but it felt like really generic action/sci-fi to me.

Venom was excellent. Tom Hardy was a really strong choice for the role (he rocks most roles TBH, slight man-crush). Not a bad word to say about the movie.

You guys.....are making me feel the D2 itch again.

Y'all playing 800x600 or what?
I really can't play without higher res and the high res mod stopped working with 1.13 IIRC(?)
