House prices went up 20% here last year.  Wages were a shitload less.

Today this was a real headline: Labour announces that it will make more housing announcements this year

They are too scared of the existing landlords so they are screwing over everyone else.  Share values can go up and down, but not property. wtf

how nice that the police were able to arrest a total of 13 people during the shitstorm at the capitol today. interesting contrast with other events around here this past summer.

some cops stopped to take selfies with them ..

I still have Atma, as thats how I setup my stuff and it works for me.  The main reason I'd go for PlugY is the other 2 unique charms Hellfire Torch and Annihilus

I heard about Path of Diablo but don't know details.  You do need to do the /players8 if you want it on, or in between settings

In terms of videos, MrLlama is pretty cool  if you google things about Diablo2 start or Diablo2 noob or tricks you'll get things.  I'd try to find a type of video content maker that doesn't annoy you.

Then I'd get you to ask yourself, why are you coming back to this awesome game after all this time?  What fun things are you looking to do?  Get a character or a few up high? max damage, find cool items etc? and make sure you are doing that :)

So finished the Mandalorian, it got a decent (9.9) rating on IMDB.  Who else has seen it?

While we got the pandemic Under control here, luck had more of a role than officials doing the right thing

as a benchmark, what i've paid for in the past, if i went to buy one today it would get me a 2060 or Radeon 5700 XT to give you an idea.  How do they look these days?

Things have changed a bit, and next year may well be the year I get my next new machine.  I'm horribly out of date on things.  I remember that website logical increments being quite useful around tiers and setups.  However I feel I'm a bit blind to "why" they make some of their choices.  Whats the benefit of some stock parts, vs spend an extra $50 or $200 for next bits up.

If I'm doing this properly I should probably get a new everything.  My current screen on my old PC was a bit old when I got it.

I'll have a look around local pricing as things change a bit.

AMD/Intel for CPUs (I've never actually overclocked anything)
Motherboards? Does it really matter? Ideally I'll look for something that doesn't limit me to small numbers of RAM slots.  I don't normally get too much expansion stuff ..
RAM, whats minimum vs decent for the future? speeds?
RGB? lol?
HDD options?
Get a screen with all the Hertz and all the curves?

Ideally I want to do VR, that alone has a few options

What do you think I should start dreaming about?

So what does everyone think about the bullshit from the top down, a mixture of denying reality, the lawsuits hope, the just sowing doubt which some will hold onto for years, and then the blantant "planning for his 2nd term" as if he has won in a landslide.  i'm a mixture of tired, annoyed and a bit scared at the same time.

Tenet: Excellent movie. There were bits I'm sure I'll need a second viewing to pickup.  There were bits I went Aha! when I put a few things together.  It was also cool that the trailer showed things out of context, and not all the things, so doesn't give away key things, just a few bits of "ooh this should be good" but followed up with "woah, they didn't mention that would happen!

General Discussion / One of my best friends has unexpectedly passed
« on: October 18, 2020, 06:20:44 AM »
I'm a bit broken now, she dated a friend of mine in uni.  Their relationship didn't last but we had a friendship that went on about 18 years.  I knew she was in hospital, I knew there were multiple problems, but I did not expect this. It wasn't covid stuff though.  Someone you could talk to about anything.

Fuck 2020.

I've been thinking after I get these assignments out the way I need to talk to an EAP service about a few things.  That just got bumped up the priority list.
