Destiny 2 - Beta and Beyond
« on: July 29, 2017, 12:31:28 PM »
If you didn't already know, the sequel to the pretty popular Destiny MMO will be on PC as well as consoles this time around with Blizzard handling much of the PC back-end via Battle.net. Destiny 2 will also be distributed exclusively over Battle.net/Blizzard App, so no Steam client for you, but it also means that your Battle.net friends list will be integrated into the game from the outset. From what I understand, the game won't have subscription plans and instead opts for microtransactions and paid expansions.

Unfortunately the PC launch isn't until October, trailing the consoles by 6 weeks. Furthermore yesterday Activision announced that Destiny 2's PC Beta would begin on August 28th, also about 6 weeks after console players. I believe that there is an Early Access Beta for pre-orders, and then an open Beta starting on Aug. 30th for everyone to try before they buy.

Anyone else looking forward to giving this one a bash?

nah...sorry.  I hope you have fun.  I have yet to get into an MMO.  The Battle.Net for me is not a plus, but I imagine it  is for many here.

Anyone playing this? Looking at getting a PS4 and this game is partly the reason why.

I don't generally like FPS's but from the reviews I have read and what I have seen on Twitch, it should have enough RPG and/or character development aspects to it to keep me interested?
