Standard stuff, just a query should we reorganize, or just port over the existing categories and boards from the backup?

My thought was to port the categories (more or less) but not all the boards. E.G., we don't need a Torchlight board.

So I think we should dump the idea of a board for Diablo and bring back the Hellgate one.  8)

Aside from that this crowd likes Bioware, Bethesda, Blizzard, and gaming in general.

I still like the idea of a forum for techy stuff.  Reading, Movies, Tv is another good one.

Does that mean all of the threads within the categories will still be available?

So, the threads are all still available at www.gamersoasis.net/backup/

That forum is going to be live for the foreseeable future.  I've cleared all 'bans' that the forum software had, and I disabled new sign-ups.   I may eventually disable new posts as well.  I'm seeking some way of maybe importing threads or the like, but that's complicated due to database IDs and table changes so that might not become a reality.

I've set up some basic subforums and stuff for now. They will get polished more as we go (and time permits).

I'll work on getting some themes installed soon, too. Because gawd this one is dreadful.

And smileys. We need smileys...

And THAC0...

I have a list and I'm not afraid to use it!

While I read this as a slightly sarcastic decision, have you played the revived Hellgate?   It was semi-nostalgic, but, also mildly frustrating and annoying to me.

I did play the version that came out as microtransaction system.  Enjoyed it ok but ultimately got bored with it quickly.  I actually liked the original version better.

Old place had waaaaaaaayyyy to many subforums. As few subforums as humanly possible.

Once subforum for official forum type shit.

Once subforum for gaming

Once subforum for other casual shit.

Maybe a Diablo subforum out of respect for history.

Fewer subforums = more members interacting.

I ponder splitting some of this into a 'Forum Updates' thread.

I just installed a theme I sort of tolerate, but, will likely be looking for something better.  This one is a dark green, slightly (for varying definitions of easy) easier on the eyes than a brihgt white everything.   However, textboxes are for whatever reaason still blindingly white. :(

At this point, I'm three steps away from creating a terminal client that parses the forum. :P

It is pretty good.  I don't like how it shows the avatars but otherwise tolerable.

There is a slight bug with the selecting process.  Most of the preview images show the same image.

Can we get more themes?

Is there somewhere where I can look at available themes and say I want that one.

So far  the default one is best.  The others have issues of one type or another.

Sure. Just point the way and nanenj, pixie or I can install them.
