Pro tip: Donít hesitate to run a pro-choice candidate when youíre running against a child molester, even in Alabama.

also, for really good ancient weapons, better to use ramaladni's gizmo (a semi-rare drop but not terribly rare by the time you're able to run high torment rifts) to add a socket and use the mystic to add something else- you can roll the socket off for something else in those cases, if the item dropped with a socket already.

I started my season slowly soloing in Hard with a rebirthed DH, but was able.to get a boost to 70 then got carried through 4 or 5 T13 rifts for SO and gear last night also scoring the all important Dawn. Now I need to work out what difficty I can hardly solo to finish off CH3 and 4.

The others have handled most of your questions.  Enjoy Act V, then go to Adventure mode.  Press Shift and J at some point to see the Seasonal Journey. I'm guessing you just need to do 5 bounties and a Rift to finish chapter 1 now.    You don't get a reward for chapter 1, but you'll be close to finishing chapter 2 when you'll get TWO pieces of an end game set.  Next 2 chapters are 2 more pieces each.

Having 6 pieces of a set, even if the rest of your gear is average will give you a whole new world of power.  Did you/do you MP much?  I suggest get in a MP game and you'll get some quick paragons.  Getting up to paragon 200 won't take too long, this will let you max the first of your stats  Have you heard of the Icy-Veins site?  https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/crusader-builds  This will let you know what skills/gear to go for.   Until you have some gear, just get what is fun and works.  That site also tells you which mods to reroll with the Mystic.  Or I prefer the Supermatt app ;)

In terms of MP, DO IT!  you get rewarded with better everything for not being solo.  You won't be a burden being in a game, and you won't miss out on anything compared to our old D2 single player days.  You'll probably be invited into games before you ask anyway :P  You will do a normal rift (even if you aren't killing) and get a Greater Rift Token.  The stronger person might do a few of these, then its on to Greater Rifts (GRs).    the EXP and rewards are much better here.

At some point, I'd suggest getting those other 2 level 60 characters and even if you craft some gear you might get upgrades.  Hit level 61 and all their existing stuff will be trashed quickly. Those legendaries they currently have, the newer versions have much better things on them.

In some ways I envy you, you have a lot of potential fun in front of you!

Any quick pointers as to what to do with the Mystic?

Buy her a drink at least!! Don't let your wife find out you have a new NPC on the side.

Well I finished the campaign.  So was that ending a nod to D4 or to the next expansion?

The game is so different than when I left.  I had over 300 hours on my Monk alone, lvl 60 P37.  I have around forty hours on my Crusader, lvl 70 P45 or so.  Just insane.  Overall I think this is a good thing, I don't really like the grind of normal, nightmare, and hell.

At this point I am in chapter 3.  I just got my Kaine Cube (sp I am sure).  No clue what to do with it, I'm sure Zoltan has an idea or two.  I just did my first rift and got a stone for a greater rift.  Should I save those up?  Do people still farm hell fire rings?  What should I being aiming for at this point.  Right now I am mainly trying to complete Chapters in the Season.  When doing bounties and rifts do you recommend doing full clears?  Going as fast as possible?  Interesting that there are new areas that I have never seen in the campaign.

Once more into the fray.

edit: And yes I would MP with you fools.  Not that I really have a clue yet.

The first three chapters were pretty easy.  The fourth doesn't look as easy.

Next expansion? The expansion was 3.5 years ago.  We got the necro .. and one or 2 free bits.  There is almost no chance of more paid content to expand on D3.  This year had almost 0 coverage at Blizzcon.  Every other franchise is the new exciting thing.

Next step, join in some MP with whoever you see, tell them what you need in Chapter 3 .. they will help you tick stuff off the list! Onto more rewards.

Congrats on finishing the campaign.  Now you can concentrate on Adventure Mode (Bounties, Rifts, Greater Rifts).  Also, donít forget to do the challenge rift on a weekly basis (below adventure mode on the game settings screen).  If you complete the challenge rift in time you will get a cache will crafting materials in it.  It is worthwhile to do every week.

Use the greater rift stones to run greater rifts and get legendary gems, then level those gems up.  Legendary gems are really powerful and can only be socketed into rings and amulets.  Most people donít do full clears when doing rifts or bounties.

Full clears if you're out to smell the flowers and enjoy some of the detail Blizz has packed into D3 and dial up the speed depending on how fast you want to progress.

There are several different ways to enjoy 'end game' D3 although you don't hear much about people's objectives like you did in D2. Some people concentrate on HC, others enjoy challenging higher Greater Rifts, working through different builds and character classes, collecting achievements and cosmetics or a combo platter of all of the above.

That all sounds good.  Is there a set of the legendary stones that are considered to be optimal?

I also had a weird drop of a spider (Charlotte I think) no clue what to do with it.  I did all the key wardens at T4.  That was pushing my character.  At this point I am unable to kill Urzeal (sp? Act V).

I figure I need to grid a bit to get my character more powerful.  Is there a way to target a set of Vampbraces?  I forget the name of them but they reduce the wrath cost of my of my hammers.

My other two goals to reduce the cooldown time of Akarat's Champion so I can have it up more often and to just up my dps.

GG on the keywardens, you are right, at that point they are a bit of a challenge but as you found, you can get them.

In terms of the Vambraces, you have 2 options to get set/legendary items outside of random drops or friends finding stuff and dropping it for you.
1) Get a Rare version of the item, and there is a cube recipe to upgrade to legendary.  This is best for upgrading weapons due to good value for resources
2) You will be getting blood shards (another resource) spend those at an NPC called Kadala.  You gamble for an item type, you'll get either blue, yellow, green or gold!

Its just a matter of time and you'll get the gear you need to make your build nice and strong. Then you work on rerolling a thing, or finding stronger/ancient versions of your gear.

When you do have Best in Slot (BiS) gear, it doesn't mean you have the best, with the various types of attributes, let alone the rolls, you might have the best vambraces, but it had all the wrong mods.  Later you might get one with all the right ones and get a massive increase.

I also had a weird drop of a spider (Charlotte I think) no clue what to do with it.

Charlotte is a pet.  They drop from Menagerist Goblins.  You right-click to add them to your collection, then you can pick one to follow you around and pick up gold for you.  In the bottom right-hand corner of your screen is an icon that looks like a hand mirror.  That accesses your Collection, which is your Pets, Wings, and other stuff that doesn't affect gameplay.  You can also click the Wardrobe near Myriam's place in town.

to follow you around and pick up gold for you.

This is awesome and means you can focus on the killing and picking up big things
