Been playing quite a bit of Yakuza Kiwami 2 this week.  About 2/3rds of the way through, just now getting to some of the really good references to the previous 2 games.  Laughed out loud several times during the Cabaret Club mini-game, such as the description of playing dress-up with the girls saying "You know you love it."  (How did they know?!  :o  ;))  And I just reached a point where a character from Yakuza 0's version of that game returns in glorious, jaw-dropping fashion that forced me to learn how to take screenshots on my PS4.  Combat-wise it's a little less stiff than 0 or Kiwami but also less precise and less deep since there aren't multiple combat styles, though you can move a lot faster and there are a lot more weapons and destructible items around.  The biggest upgrade between 0/Kiwami and this one is that the upgrade to Yakuza 6's system which cuts out almost all loading times and makes the world almost completely seamless.  You can walk in and out of any restaurant or activity building without loading, and even bring fights inside of them (though they aren't too happy about that).  The side stories have been good, but most aren't quite as ridiculously memorable as those in 0.  Haven't done too much with the Clan Creator yet, which is kind of a top-down real-time strategy game where you try to defend your construction equipment against enemies, though the victory theme is kinda catchy.

That would make things more fun.  The runewords were a fun gimmick.

Looking at that list I think I had an Ist drop from the countess.  I know I had an Um drop.  The rest of my good runes came from give-aways.

It seems to me that, for the most part, Axton's skills are well thought out giving you a lot of choices on how to do the build.  There are a couple must haves like bullet storm, sentry and ready, then you get to branch off in different ways.  You can be a jack of all trades and have good survivability, you can be grenade focused, or you can specialize in turrets.  I am kind of digging the versatility.  In Maya, who I think is pretty well designed, you kind of need to go with Ruin in order to do UVHM.  The comparable skill for Axton is Double Up where your turret gets slag.  But with Axton you can ignore that and use your grenades to take care of the slag for you.

At this point I am leaning toward doing a Double Up, Grenade combo build.  Not really sure but I am liking the idea of having a ton of fireball grenades.  All good choices.  I have also heard that by Axton is the top solo Raid Boss Killer.  Has something to do with using the explosion from Tediore reloads.  Haven't fully looked into that as I find the Raid bosses annoying as hell.

I went back to playing Axton.

How're you finding him? I quite enjoy Axton, with turret placement and abilities providing a different tactical approach.

I am going to try to streamline leveling.  The goal is to mainly do just the main quests on first and second play through.  I am going to try to level up by doing certain runs.  The target is fifty by the end of TVHM.  At that point I will settle in for a fuller play through..

I think I managed to complete TVHM at level 49. With Axton the final fight with the Warrior I found to be a bit of a pain due to poor weapon choices on my part. I'm not sure I have an optimal build for UVHM as I'm very focused on turrets and probably need to think more about synergies involving grenade damage.
