There's no live human NPCs. There are lots of robots. And lots of quests and stories. It's just that it's more discovery-based than in-your-face-do-this-now. You'll come upon a place and get quests based on that place, and discovering what happened there, or dealing with robots-gone-bad. And the "main quest" will take you all over but seems to be very "whenever you feel like it." That is, there's no sense of false urgency like in FO4 where you would WANT to do all this other stuff but in the back of your mind would always be that nagging sense that if this were real life, you'd be bee-lining the main quest because of course you would.

There is a metric shitload of the environmental storytelling that Bethesda does best. You know, where you learn about events and people through the things/notes/tapes you find, and it's often up to you to piece it together.

Also, the first non-starter weapon I found in the beta was a pitchfork modified to have 3 barbed tines and flames attached. That's pretty amazing. LOL

I have to say that I am tempted to dip my toe back into these waters.  I really wish they would make a sequel.

That actually sounds decent.  Is there any story elements/quests to the experience or is it just exploring and setting up stuff?

I found the first two episodes enjoyable but it deteriorated after that.
Not so much because of the new Doctor, but the plots were just... off.

Ditto.

I never watched Dr Who before this season - so I can't compare it against any other season or Doctor - but I have a good friend that has watched forever. Thought I'd give it a go this season and like Silverthorn, quite enjoyed the first couple of episodes and hoping the last couple were just a dip blip and it gets back on track this week.

OK, so I played this new Hellgate London a little bit last night.  I didn't even clear the first zone, so I was basically just messing around, talking to NPCs and getting used to the gameplay again.  It is definitely different from the original.  The start is really different (station is not the same, quests are different, new things to do, etc.).  I think it is going to be fun getting back into this game after not playing it for so long.

Heh, after 30-40 LK runs, I finally found the Ist I needed to make a Call to Arms... then I realized after looking through my mules that I didn't have any low-req 5-socket weapons to put it in (just 2 Phase Blades that need 136 Dex), so I went back to farming.  I was looking for Crystal Swords or Flails, but the first thing that dropped was a Military Pick :-/.  And then, of course, it rolled poorly, 3/1/4 on skills (the 1 being Battle Orders), making it pretty weak to use, but at least I have one now.

Did find a Stormspire hoarking a witch in the WSK though, which would be a huge accomplishment if this were still 1.09.

This game is really fun, guys.

Also, for those who were put off by pvp? It's basically opt-in. If another player attacks you, you have like 99% damage reduction until/unless you attack back. Basically, shooting at someone is the equivalent of sending a duel request in most MMOs. If you don't want to, just don't bother.

That said, I have found people are generally helpful. I haven't personally encountered a complete twit yet.

Also, the servers are very low population. I had a server to myself for like 3 hours one time. Most of the time there seems to be 6-10 other people on the server... spread across the entire map (which is massive). You can play for ages and not see another player if want.

Hellgate London is now available on Steam for $9.74 (25% off the regular price of $12.99).  That's pretty cheap.

EDIT:
I just bought it and I am installing now.  I won't have much time to play it tonight, but I should over the weekend.
