Diablo 3 / Re: Anyone multibox D3?
« on: December 07, 2017, 08:09:52 AM »
One mouse controls multiple characters simultaneously?  So all characters move, attack, open chests, etc., in unison?  I still don't see how that would work.

I have watched it on twitch before.  They all run the same class and build typically.  As I understand it,
one runs multiple instances of D3 under Windows and the input comes from the same source.  The player
has to switch between characters to scoop up items.  It looked like a fair amount of juggling and it has
been a long time since I have seen anyone stream multiboxing.

MP is a fun way to get established quickly. Glad you had a fun time.

To add to what Bob said, a large number of legendarys are useless. I know this because my stash is full of items I'll likely never use...Having said that however, how you gear in D3 has changed a lot since release. In the beginning you had to grind like crazy to find gear. Then Blizz released the 'auction house' and it was a good way to get the items you needed but a lot of idiots - like me - spent more time on the auction house than actually playing the game. Blizz recognized this and ended the auction house. Now, I think it's fairly common knowledge that crafting items is the quickest way to get the basic items for a build.

The Horadric cube has several helpful recipes. One is 'upgrade a rare of any type to a legendary'. Very helpful and relatively cheap. You only need death breaths, arcane dust, veiled crystals and the white mat. So keep picking up stuff and salvaging at the blacksmith and these are accumulated fairly quickly. You can also change a set piece into another piece of the same set and you can change all attributes on a legendary by rerolling it in the cube.

You can also change a single attribute on any item by visiting Myriam. You can use a ton of forgotten souls here to get the exact attribute you want.

So crafting mats are really quite valuable these days. They can really move your game along and help you try out different builds in reasonable amounts of time.

Rule of thumb on what to keep: if it's not a set and not ancient, put it in the cube. If you already have one in the cube, salvage it.

Good info...someone should sticky that shit.

I finished my switch over to Akkhan set.  Holy crap is it a smoother ride.  Just did a T60 solo, so I will be moving up to T13 now.  At this point I assume that it becomes more of a grind to improve on the gear?

For the record I am running a blessed shield build.  Pretty fun.  Much easier to manage than Hammers.

So I guess I have to complete some challenges.  Any pointers there?

Oh and I got a consumable drop that adds a socket to a weapon.  I am hopping that it adds a sockets instead of swapping on attribute for a socket?  In which case I should wait to use on some end game piece?

Yes, it adds a socket and leaves your attributes alone (up to 1 socket per weapon is a maximum).
Use your Ramaladni's gift on a decent ancient for the build you want to run.  For set dungeons/challenges
youtube has plenty of videos.  For conquests, try 3 gems to rank 65 and get a DH to run you through the Cursed
Peat event in Act 5 to complete what you need for the Conqueror events and the tab.

PCs / Favorite Anti-virus Software?

Hi, guys.  We took the plunge and bought our oldest a gaming laptop
for fun, and in the near future, college.  As a Mac family for the past
20+ years, our knowledge of PC anti-virus software is behind the times
undoubtedly.  What do you use and recommend using?  Some feedback
will be appreciated.

Well I joined Ray and Cluck and it was pretty loltastic.  Especially when they took me on a T75 Rift.  My job was not dying.  I died twice.  And this is on a character were I have two free deaths before the real one hits.  We also did a couple puzzle rings?  I basically tripled my gold.

What do people do with all the uniques that they don't use?  My stash is full.  Do I pretty much get rid of anything that is not Ancient or super duper Ancient (I forget the term for these...Cluck or Ray found one of them on this run).

I am not use to have this many uniques or greens.

Some of them will go into the cube powers to have at your disposal.  Some legendaries are instant salvages.
Set pieces can be worth holding onto for sure (especially ancient/primal ones).  Most people hold onto pieces
for builds they enjoy running, in particular.  Keep in mind that completing Conqueror nets you a new stash tab
in each season.  The Necro pack gives two tabs and two extra character slots in addition to access to playing
the Necromancer.  Storing items can also be done in characters you are not actively using.  Eventually, though,
we all find that we must pare down some of what we have by salvaging unneeded or unwanted items at the

So I figured out the set dungeon.  There is an item that makes it possible.

Still digging around to figure how to get enough % cool down.

A Vigilante Belt would add up to 8% CDR in a slot that otherwise can't have any.

So the one that I am having trouble completing at this point is Urzael on T4.  At this point I don't make much of a dent on him.

Just ask and any of us can help you through him.

I have a little spider that picks up gold.  Nice.  Are they really efficient at it?

One task left for Chapter 4.

The two skull pets are the quickest that I have used for gold pick up.

Full clears if you're out to smell the flowers and enjoy some of the detail Blizz has packed into D3 and dial up the speed depending on how fast you want to progress.

There are several different ways to enjoy 'end game' D3 although you don't hear much about people's objectives like you did in D2. Some people concentrate on HC, others enjoy challenging higher Greater Rifts, working through different builds and character classes, collecting achievements and cosmetics or a combo platter of all of the above.

I started a nonseason solo push with my WW barb last night and was able
to move up 3 GRs as of this morning to GR 104 and rank 97 for N.A. server
barbs at the time.  The last map was a dream map with a large Festering
Woods layout on the first floor and an elite and a Conduit pylon on the second
floor's Pandemonium Fortress.  I got pretty lucky with the Guardian and got
Perdition who is a nice boss for WW with about 7 minutes to seal it.  I finished
it in 10:34 so it was a great rift!

Yah...just a bit.  I am level 55 in Act III normal.  o_O  Once I finish the first play through I assume I do not need to play nightmare and hell.

I assume I should just do one play through before I truly figure out what this game is about.  I am about half way done with Chapter 1 of the season.

Yup, once you're done with the campaign, you can get into adventure mode where all the action is at.

I was able to get a good 2nd BK sword to drop and decided to
give a GR 100 a go with Whirlwind.  It went smoothly enough
and was completed in time without great maps.  The changes to
the BK swords made a great deal of difference in performance
with the Wastes' set.

The power is there across the board with this patch!  In a 4-player group, we were
able to do as high as GR 119.  GR 120 looks possible already as well.  I managed to
get Bane of the Trapped, Stricken and Taeguk to rank 120 last night!
