Thursday QoL patch

I'm kind of glad I got sidetracked IRL. Now I get to experience 99.9% of the game with the patch. Notes:


Patch 1.05 Notes
[/size]Improved tutorial placement[/color]
[/size]Increased inventory limits[/color]
[/size]Single player balance changes: Ammo crates, armor, weapons, nomad, profiles, attacks, and progression[/color]
[/size]Multiplayer balance changes: Weapons, cover, and enemies (check back for detailed notes on balance changes)[/color]
[/size]Improved matchmaking and latency in multiplayer[/color]
[/size]Added option to skip autopilot sequences in the galaxy map[/color]
[/size]Decreased the cost of remnant decryption keys and made them more accessible at merchants[/color]
[/size]Improved logic, timing, and continuity for relationships and story arcs[/color]
[/size]Improved lip-sync and facial acting during some conversations, including localized VO[/color]
[/size]Fixed an issue with Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern[/color]
[/size]Improved the appearance of eyes for human and asari characters[/color]
[/size]Fixed various collision issues[/color]
[/size]Fixed bugs where music or VO wouldn’t play or wasn’t correct[/color]
[/size]Fixed issue where global squad mate banter sometimes wasn’t firing on UNCs[/color]

Is this in regards to Andromeda?  I really like watching streams of this game.  They tend to be unintentionally hilarious with multiple derpy character animations and faces. :P

Patch, yay. Awesome game gets awesomer.

Fixing the dead stare of so many human faces will address my only significant complaint about the game.

At level 30-something, with three planets at 100% viability, I am inclined already to call this the 2nd best mass effect. ME1 is still my favorite but that may change...

Aww, won't be near as fun to watch now!  But, good on them for fixing it.

Is QoL = quality of life?

Very glad that they started fixing things.  Stupid that they let the game go live in this condition.  All that said very much enjoying the game.  Making incredibly slow process.

Played a few hours tonight. Faces are MUCH better. Lipsync is much better.

I'm happy.

Why the fuck are you restarting, Lego? Nothing in this patch is "restart worthy."

Also, I now have almost 80 hours in this game and I'm still probably not half done. Yikes.

Patch is great - the eyes and facial animations are much improved.

Not a huge fan of the increase in inventory space, but meh.

Pretty sure this is also my second favorite Mass Effect game (after ME3). Hoping multiplayer is good, but I haven't tried it yet.

I haven't even noticed the increased inventory space. For all the whining about it I heard on other forums, I never had an issue with the base 50. I'm rarely over 30 items and haven't bothered with even increasing the base.

I'm still (tentatively) ranking them ME1 > ME:A > ME2 > ME3

I recently replayed ME1, and it has not aged well IMHO.

Nope, the ending didn't bother me a bit really. I just didn't enjoy the overall gameplay as much. The series went from feeling like a combination space opera and exploration game in ME1 to being a straight up corridor shooter in space in ME3.

I've replayed ME1 about a dozen times (most recently this last summer), ME2 maybe 6 times, and ME3 twice.

ME:A is much closer to 1 than 3 in feel.

Imagine ME3. Depending on your decisions, at the end, in the battle of london, Asari Commandoes parachute in when you're dealing with all of the Banshees at the missile site.


Krogan come barrelling in on the rooftop battle, in shuttles helmed by Quarians, who also help your pilot Steve.


A swarm of Turians sweep the streets with you.


Salarian Special Forces deploy in front of you to quell hotspots. You get regular radio communication and intel from them.


The last Batarian shock force in the universe gathers to fight with you.


The Hanar use their connection to the Reapers to chant, interfering with their connectivity and giving you +10% damage. You hear things like "This one asks you to cease hostility against the humans"


I could go on. It's not even the fucktarded ending. It's the whole missed opportunity of the last battle.


It could have made me weep. Something like the above to reward you for each decision/mission in the game could have been glorious. Instead, almost everything you've done in the game is for nothing. Means absolutely rubbish.


Don't get me started on Kai Lang.
