Yes, played it on PC.  It only lasted about 5-6 hours but there is no padding in there at all.  Each mission introduces some kind of new element that in generally it pretty much throws away by the end of the mission so the game feels really varied.  Shooting is really satisfying and the set pieces are fantastic.

I only paid 5 for it so only a few awesome hours is worth it to me.

I have a lot of Star Wars Lego, but no obscene Millenium Falcons.

I've now finished Titanfall 2.  Probably the best FPS campaign I've ever played.

Started playing Titanfall 2.  I don't generally play many shooters but this is awesome.

Oh jeez. Retract part of that statement. I completely forgot that I finished a bunch of Mass Effect and Dragon Age games.

Gonna throw my contrary opinion in. FO:NV to meet is the best of the modern Fallout games. I'm fact, I trust them way more than Bethseda to make a game that is going to hold my interest.

PoE is the only recent CRPG that I've actually finished since... NWN2 😁 although Pix will find my tastes questionable because I've finished way more JRPGs in that rolled period.

What was botched? The port seemed fine to me? Genuinely curious...

Apparently a lot of people suffered framerate problems.  Probably not an issue on your 1080 ;)  Looks like a community patch has fixed it since though so my previous advice here can be disregarded.

Nier: Automata is really good, but it's on Steam, and games are always better on PC if you have the option. :P

99% of the time I agree with you.  But in cases like this and Assassin's Creed Origins they seem to have botched the port, so the PS4 version may be better.  In the case of Nier I opted for the PS4 version.

Diablo 3 / Re: Diablo 4?

I guess I was right about it being something they could milk for microtransactions.  That is the heart of mobile gaming after all.  Didn't expect it to be an MMO because of cannibalising WoW subs, but this is so far away from WoW that that is certainly not going to be a problem.

It wasn't clear from the video what was massively multiplayer about it. It looked just like Diablo 3.

I'd like something more than just a character class.  For me, the Necromancer just doesn't seem good value for money.  I could buy a completely different game for the same price, and I still haven't explored fully all of the core Diablo 3 classes.  A full expansion would be good, but I can't see it happening.

I really can't believe it will be an MMO.  I know money to Blizzard is still money to Blizzard, but maintaining two MMO development teams probably isn't going to give them the return on investment.  I think a standard game supported by micro transactions of the type we are seeing in Starcraft 2 and we have seen with the Necromancer is much much more likely.

Heck I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's announcement is just another character addition to Diablo 3.

General Discussion / Re: My first trip to Europe!

I've never been to Brussels, and have no idea what your route structure into Europe would look like.  If you end up going via any of the major European cities you'd easily be able to fill the time with awesome stuff and probably still feel there is stuff you missed.

I'm honestly not sure where all the European gamersoasis members are based.  I'm a couple of hours out of London by train so a trip up is feasible depending on dates and family commitments.

I've now been back in Montreal for a month and a half, and we're finally getting settled. Our furniture was delivered this week, and we finished unpacking the last boxes yesterday. 7 weeks in hotel/flat with bare necessities has been a bit long, so glad to have some comfort back. AND MY PC, obviously :p
Otherwise, everything has been going wonderfully. Really enjoying the new job, there were things I expected but many good surprises too. Not sure I had announced it here yet, but after many years working close to video games technology but never actualy in it... I joined Ubisoft ;) And no, I can't tell much, I signed more or less my weight in paper in various NDAs :p
And today is a beautiful autumn day, enjoying the famous Canadian autumn colors, I'll post some pictures sometimes.

Glad to hear things are going well! You will have to let me know when:

1) You are ready for visitors
2) You are ready to give me free copies of Assassin's Creed :D
