Rune Finding FAQ

Hellforge Rune Drops
Normal: El - Amn
Nightmare: Sol - Um
Hell: Hel - Gul

Countess rune drops
Normal: Ral
Nightmare: Ko ; above Io is much rarer
Hell: Lo ; above Ist is much rarer

Other Monsters
NM Meph: Um
NM Diablo: Ist
NM Pindle: Ist
NM Baal: Vex
NM Cows: Ist
Andy: Lo
Radament: Ber
Summoner: Lo
High Council: Cham
Meph: Cham
Izual: Cham
Hephaesto: Zod
Diablo: Zod
Pindleskin: Zod
Shenk: Zod
Nihlathak: Zod
Baal: Zod
Hell Cows: Zod

Where is the best place to find:
Rune: Best / Next Best / Next Best.... icon_pointl.gif this chart is build on the odd of ONE kill
El~Io: Countess
Io-Ist: Hellforge / Countess
Gul: Hellforge / Summoner / High Council
Vex - Lo: Summoner / High Council / Izual, Hephaesto, Nihlathak
Sur - Cham: High Council / Izual, Hephaesto, Nihlathak
Zod: Hephaesto, Nihlathak / Diablo, Baal / Pindle, Shenk, Eldritch

Note: This chart does not factor in number of monsters in a given area. Meaning: High Council will actually give you about 8x better chances that is listed and Hell Cows have about 500x better chances.
Therefore, any rune past countess should be searched for in Cow Level or in Travincal

Note: Magic find does not effect whether a rune will drop, nor will it effect the quality of the rune

That's some nice work, as I am hoping to do many runewords this time.  I had quite a few nice ones before I quit, but this will help immensely.

GoMule for D2R:
https://gomule.sourceforge.io/

Choose "Resurrected Download" at the top.

I did this.  Now I need to figure out the install.  Either I am being dense or it is not intuitive.  Possibly both.

All you do is put the main Gomule folder somewhere on your drive.  There really is no install.  You run the java file.

I created a stash to store all my items in.

Yeah, that'll be it. I couldn't open it until I installed the Java environment. I think its in the FAQs or one of the information tabs on the host page.

I need help. I'm not techie smart. I'm not finding where to install the java environment. Can you help with where exactly I need to go on that site and what I need to select? I was able to download GoMule, and I have it in a random folder. I just need to figure out the java thing. Once I have that, do I select the gomule.jar file to open the app?

I believe you have sorted this out already Drozz?  If not hit me up.

I was surprised that my computer did not already have Java.  But installing that got me going.

I suggest the video above if you have never used the app.

Two links to discussion around immunities and lower resist.

This one is more a discussion on immunities and how they work:
MrLlamaSc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xXeo-_9D_k

This one is more aimed at what is going on with cold mastery and does the additional supposition that all things that lower resistances are potentially piecing immunities.

Here's a Rune Grail and Runeword lookup spreadsheet I found:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bo-wTCEy9eOQshJxy9eUtnwusK7-J4KTqnFzXorHRxA/edit#gid=0

I've actually copied that page into my Grail spreasheet.

I have a really nice Eth Cryptic Ax that I am going to make insight in.  This would be for my Blizz sorc merc in NM.

So the question I had was when i could equip it based on the str requirement.  I went looking for a resource to help answer that question and sure enough I found one.

Pretty cool.

I keep looking this up so I figure I might as well persist this here.

The level at which you can get plus +2 to skills for imbues:
Circlets: Char level 83
Coronet: Char level 78
Tiara: Char level 73
Diadem: Char level 8
