Yeah. That looks stupid.

I still remember when I went to uni, this dumb surfer dude found out I still played vidya games.  He said "that's not cool bro"  Wait till there is a great VR game in your genre, or your favourite franchise does a good version of it.  See how it is then :)

It sounds like some people are putting in a few different options, some get motion sick.  Since its all relatively new there are tweaks still coming.

No, I mean it looks dumb. Flailing around, knocking shit over, slamming into walls and stuff... As said above, it's pretty pointless for any game where you're not just sitting still.

The first Sam VR game was the character stuck in the same spot, you moved your head to look around, and your arms to independently aim two weapons.

The next one they got two movement options, people seemed to think jumping/climbing ladders etc was very natural to do.

Apart from mouse movement keyboard is generally very digital (on or off), having that fine tuning might take a bit of getting used to?

I still remember learning to play an FPS with a mouse, took a few months until I was better than just keyboard only.

I'll reserve further comment till I've tried it personally.

As you see, this is very different from just your hands controlling them and your eyes and ears getting input, we see people believing they are there .. to the detriment of themselves and those around them :D

I heard about similar things with those Wii remotes through TVs etc.

I'm going to guess that most people don't have enough space in their house to be able to realistically walk around a real virtual environment.  As soon as you have to limit on that, the full immersion is gone (for me).  Don't get me wrong, when I tried it it was very cool, but I just think it is going to go the way of 3D for all but the very niche gamer.
