Remember that thing Trump hated and got out of?  Well the other 11 countries are still going ahead, basically parked the things only the US wanted.  Now I hear Trump is talking about possibly rejoining/renegotiating lol

I'm sure they would like better access to the US, but they won't just bend over backward to make it all one way.

like we need more evidence to know he's a f888ing idiot.

i've heard one analyst call trump's decision on the TPP the best thing to happen to china in 1000 years. that is probably an exaggeration, but the point is most people realize it was a stupid move. trump has made noises about being open to renegotiation, but he apparently needs some way to save face. he's never wrong, you know.

Domestically he is doing some stuff, but to the rest of the world, the US is getting pretty insular and the rest of the world is just moving on without you.  China is working on being a or THE superpower.  In some areas its behind, eg they only got their first aircraft carrier.

Yeah...he looks the fool because he is.

washington post reporting today:

--- Quote ---President Trump suggested Thursday he might want to rejoin the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a major reversal on the sprawling multination trade pact he rejected just days after taking office.

Rejoining the pact would come as Trump escalates a trade conflict with China. The Pacific Rim trade deal was intended by the Obama administration as a way to counter China’s influence, but Trump criticized the pact as a candidate and pulled the United States out of it in one of his earliest moves as president.

Trump gave the new orders to U.S. Trade Representative Robert E. Lighthizer and National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow during a meeting with lawmakers and governors in the White House Cabinet Room Thursday, according to several GOP senators in attendance.

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) said that he and others at the table argued that “if you really want to get China’s attention, one way to do it is start doing business with all the people they’re doing business with in the region: their competitors.”

Trump then told Lighthizer and Kudlow to “take a look at getting us back into that agreement, on our terms of course,” Thune said. “He was very I would say bullish about that.”
