Hey Mikrobe. The GR55s are reasonably easy. I find if you can equip a build with all BiS (ancient no necessary) gear and have level 50 gems then you should be able to do GR55.

Also, assume that you're levelling your gems to level 65. That is one of the easier conquests.

Yes with your paragon level the 6x55 will be pretty quick, the main thing is just knowing how to play the 6 different builds.

Boss mode will be good if we can organise, otherwise i'll go for 3x65 gems.    Speed rift is just a matter of time with the right high level fast person/people.

I think I'll level my gems, then use one of those gems to do the augment possibly :D

More progress, thanks to Matt this time, almost P400 on EU, i managed to solo a GR 50 (previous best 30!).  10 things till a tab, maybe 9 if i have the speed rift already.  Only master the dungeon on current chapter.  Gems on 42 now!  Woot.

Yeah, I reckon I can do those GR55s, I just need to learn the builds. My first attempts at Arachnyr and Jade sets failed horribly, but that was probably 100 paragons ago. Up to now I had still never read any game guides and was making up my builds myself, which is fine for mid-level play, but I've now looked some up and will have another go.

I would really like to do boss mode because it would be fun to do something that isn't just plugging away incrementally until you get to the goal. I'm picking up a new computer tonight, which should reduce my load times. I didn't spend £750 just to do this one conquest, but I might have spent it this week to do it...  :-\

Woot, go Mikrobe, as someone who failed my first season then has come through since I know you can do it in time!

Mikrobe, check out Icy Veins for the best builds for the various sets. I know it's boring, but the clock is ticking on the season and is will be the easiest way to finish the 6 class sets conquest:

Thanks Matt, actually I know that site because I think you linked to it from the old forum.

So, I picked up my new big laptop and after deleting some bloatware and installing my antivirus and Firefox I then installed battle.net and D3. Set all graphics settings to max and it looks gorgeous, my little laptop struggled to run the game with all settings at min! It can't quite handle max settings when playing though, occasionally freezes up for a split second, so I turned off things like peripheral shadows. Load times seem better and I have more control in game as there's no lag on the cursor movement and click, didn't realise how much it was holding me back!

I'd finally found Bracers of the First Men, so specced the IK Hammer barb (my favourite build) and made GR55 comfortably but not easily, due to non-ancient weapon. Then specced leap-quake barb and the better control on my mouse meant I could leap with precision and everything died around me. I was finishing GR68 when Matt logged on, we did some speed runs in a public game and got my T13 in 5 min. Then we did GRs and got my gems to 62, I tried to finish that conquest in public games but couldn't find a good group so did it solo.

Just one more GR55 for the tab, will probably do it with Arachyr Firebats build - it showed promise when I tried before so should make it if I tweak it based on the guide.

Great work! Good luck with that last GR55!

I got my tab :)

Tried the last GR with Arachyr Firebats but found it hard even on T10, tried GR50 and it was impossible. The build requires you to do too many things at once for me to be able to play it. So I tried the Jade Harvester build: one practice on T10, then GR50, then GR55, finished with about half the time left... I'd avoided it because I couldn't figure out how it was supposed to work, still don't quite understand it but it's super-powerful even though not fully optimised.

dont think it will let me back on tonight

Edit 2: complaining fixes things ;)

Matt and Tim, are we going to have a crack at boss mode tomorrow?

Have either of you read guides on how to do it? I had a think and came up with this first suggestion, but happy to do something different if you know better.

Classification:

Multistage fights: Diablo, Belial, Malthael, Urzael
Long runs: Araneae, Butcher, Ghom, Siegebreaker, Cydea, Azmodan, Izual, Adria
Easy runs: Leoric, Kulle, Magda, Rakanoth

Suggested order:

(1) D, Malth, Urz
(2) Belial, Adria, Izual
(3) Araneae, Cydea, Azmodan
(4) Ghom, Siege, Butcher
(5) Rakanoth, Leoric, Magda
(6) Kulle

If I happen to be on when you attempt this, hit me up! I need Boss Mode to complete Guardian for the season. I've tried it a couple times solo, but my load times are just too long and I've missed it by less than a minute twice now... :(
