Ok, cheers. More powerful than I expected on DoT skills.

Probably worth keeping it on my WD if I can spread the Haunt around properly (I usually can), especially if the Manitou also affects it since that explodes with area damage thanks to the Barber. The 25% vs RGs/bosses is really noticeable.

Great work, Tim!

I had my first failure in a GR today, tier 58 at paragon 437. My damage and kill speed is pretty good, but I'm really fragile so waste some time running backwards and even more time lying on the floor. I can hardly take any elemental damage, which I don't quite understand because the WD's high intelligence means my resistances are really good. Anyway, I have three offensive gems so thinking of swapping one for a more defensive one. Might look at a different defensive passive skill too.

Bane of the Stricken: "Each attack you make against an enemy...".

What counts as an attack? Easy to understand for a targetted direct-acting skill, either spell or weapon based. I'm not too worried about the details of channelled skills like whirlwind, presumably every time it hits (or tries to hit) an enemy instead of on a selected target. The skill types I have questions for are:

(1) Damage over time: (a) directly applied to monsters, e.g. bleed, poison, Haunt; (b) applied to all monsters in an area, e.g. Earthquake, Acid Cloud. My guess is it only counts the first hit on the monster, but it could count every time the game takes health off it???

(2) Skills and buffs that are activated and then randomly target monsters, e.g. Spirit Barage/Manitou rune, Wreath of Lightning legendary gem.

(3) Pets: do their attacks count?

I was messing around in non-season trying to learn how to play the leap-quake build and I got the same weird bug as syn a couple of months ago, The Binder spawned and then just sat there, not targetable or doing anything. A little annoying, but in a torment rift so it didn't cost me anything.

I have everything for barb except wizardspike and my seasonal WD has one in the stash, so I'll get that when I'm sure she doesn't need to use it. Crusader most things. WD hardly anything because I'm saving DBs, but a lot are in the stash waiting. Haven't played the other classes properly yet.

I blew way too many DBs too early on the cube with my barb but it was fun to go for them all.

If you do a Nephalem rift and you're level 70 then the boss at the end will drop one or more.

On Europe my score is 5390. I've spent some time knocking off achievements.

100% on general and crafting, severely let down by hardcore, set dungeons, and to some extent classes.

I thought old GO had it about right - Banshee's Wail and game boards visible publicly (before joining people might want some idea of the style), others that might be more controversial only seen by members. But overall I agree with narsica and syn.

Haha I wonder how other people see it? I tend to think if you don't do any boss fights at all it's a sure sign of a moocher, and since I usually prefer kill-em-all quests I make sure I do a couple. Usually by the time my computer has loaded the level the boss is dead already, anyway. That's another reason I hate people joining me on random quests, my comp slows to a crawl.

There is one really annoying player on EU I've been in a few games with who has about half the paragon levels and jumps between the other three players, presumably taking the free drops and xp. He always turns up for a goblin or chest, which then fails because my game becomes a turn-based strategy. He then accused me of being a bot and kicked me because I ran in a straight line to the quest target without taking damage or attacking.

It doesn't take too much to hit tx.  remember, there is a difference between TX solo and TX with 4 people .. i had some games I was SUPER slow, i did maybe 3-4 bounties, the rest did the others, luckily they didn't try to kick me :P  If you don't die they won't suspect your a noob ;)

Also know your character strengths and choose the bounties that work best. E.g. if you need to continuously kill monsters to maintain buffs then do the "clear a dungeon" or "kill a random elite plus 150 others” bounties, if you can move quickly and still be at full strength when you reach the target do the quest-based ones or the ones like rescue the guards where you need to visit 4 or 5 stations. Also make sure you turn up to 2 or 3 of the boss fights to show willing, even if you deliberately skip the really hard ones like Malthael, then people will just assume you're half way through a long bounty.

I really like public bounty games, almost the complete opposite to my experience of public rift games.

I got into Whimsydale and then in the same game, each within 5-10 minutes of finishing the last one, I got two Vaults! Needless to say I'm feeling very rich right now  8)

I went through all three special levels with the Broken Crown as my cube armour item, Whimsydale gave me over 200 gems, mostly imperial. I didn't count the gems from the Vaults, but I had some gold boosting gear, ended up with about 380 million.

Yeah I kind of figured that must be the case. It's even more annoying because one of the first barbers I found was a really good ancient one, so none of the cube results are giving me even minor upgrades... very unsatisfying!

How much of that xp difference is the bonus xp given by Orek, or are the monsters actually worth more?

Also do you get better drops from a GR boss than a nephalem rift boss (if so it would help make up for no drops from normal monsters)?

I agree that GRs seem easier than the supposed equivalent normal ones, although I wondered if they were just quicker cos you don't have to keep stopping.

I seem to have passed some kind of turning point, and instead of just gaining levels with not much to show for them all I finally started to find upgrades for my items. Of course I haven't actually found the two items i need the most, but so it goes... I've probably gambled or had drop 6 or 7 grin reapers but no mask of jeram, same with cubing multiple barbers but no starmetal kukri. I did a round of bounties on T8 instead of pushing on GRs, my best is still only 38 I think, but i finished the session killing the uber bosses on TX.

Sounds good Bob.

I always wanted a skeleton army in D2 but never actually enjoyed it in practice, but I'm loving my summoning WD at the moment. How does that aspect of the necro differ from the WD? Are there golems? I would love the Iron Golem to be back.
