Diablo (now with Diablo 4 Hype) / Season 26 Huh?
« on: May 24, 2022, 06:05:33 PM »
I didn't see a post so I'm guessing not many are playing Season 26, season of the mini GRs. I thought it was an interesting concept but it just didn't push my buttons enough to make me want to push the buttons this season.

I did actually a couple of mini GRs but just didn't interest me. I understand that they have now made it a feature of non-season as well and that also makes no difference to me since I haven't played any non-season in a long, long time.

Well who knows, maybe season 27 will be more interesting.

Sounds like a great idea. Is that possible?

Bummer, but I understand. I always hoped D4 would revitalize this place but it still could be a long time away. I've been part of this forum family for over 20 years if you trace it back through the Single Player Forum over at whatever site that was. My goodness there was a lot of silliness and great spirit back in those days. I guess all good things. Thank you to all the folks that helped me or just made me laugh all those years.

Avid follower of basketball here and Toronto Raptor fan. We cheered when we heard the Lakers failed to make the playoffs - gave me another reason to love Pop.  Difficult to imagine the Suns not coming out of the West with the year they've had and their big guns healthy, but you never can be sure in the playoffs. I'm really interested to see if the Grizzlies can make some noise, Ja Morant has had such a great season and the Warriors would be formidable if they get a healthy Steph Curry back. Luka Doncic could pull something off for Dallas with his talent, the friendly giant Nikola Jokic shouldn't be underestimated and the Clippers with George back, well who knows.

Wide open is an apt description of the East. Brooklyn could get Simmons back in the first round, although they've been saying that for a long time, and win the East still. Miami has a good team but so does Milwaukee and Philly. Even so, the hottest team in the league in the 2nd half was the Celtics and I'd be surprised if they aren't in the Eastern Finals. The Raptors have 4 guys who can get hot and the entire team plays tough defense so while I'd be surprised if they get out of the first round, there is a chance they could beat Philly. However, if Boston loses tonight, the Raptors will face the Celtics in the first round and I'm certain we couldn't beat them 4 out of 7. Also, Atlanta could sneak into the 8th spot and while it would be shocking if they upset Miami in the first round, it's a fool who counts Trae Young out too early.

There are many interesting story lines this year in the NBA playoffs, I just hope injuries don't derail too many of them.

Interesting use of the Shard of Hatred Orbert! I should experiment more now that I have a fw.

Holy damage would also be good for a Crusader.

I really like the way they have the leader boards broken down now. It's great for several things.

Gotta run, Canadian men's soccer starting now!

The only char I've played T16 with LoD is the Witch Doctor BUT, the LoD gem was lvl 98 so that helps a lot. I took the HC WD to GR85, but I was seriously concerned about staying alive so started a SC version to get a feel. Already run a GR95 with the Arachyr's set but not ready to go back to HC yet.

Have you tried one of the embers with Int? You may find they are still very effective. I find the same thing happens to me,  end up with Holy damage or something equally as useless but I have been very lucky with shards in HC and still have a pile of 28 in my inventory. I did complete a HC GR110 with my DH. I think that's the highest HC I've ever done. I'm paragon 930 roughly HC now, about the same or slightly better than my non season.

Easy does it indeed. I don't recall how far I've taken an LoD Demon Hunter, I always switch over to gears as soon as possible now. The build is tough, super fast and best of all super maneuverable. It's also not too hard to put together.

Good luck Orbert, I haven't done much since in the last few days except get my BotT back up to nearly lvl100 again. I figure I should take some time and replenish the larder for a bit before I head back into the Crusader although as I write this, I'm seriously thinking about the WD...

Lost my first HC char of the season, my Crusader, just after I had equipped the entire Akkan's set. Too bad. I should have taken it a bit more slowly and learned more about all the buffs. It took me 29 minutes to get another Crusader to lvl 70 - the fastest I've done it so far and now she's rolling through T12 or GR 55. The biggest loss from the death was a lvl 100 BotT, which will take some time to re-level.

It's the area in Act 2 where Vidian is. Normally on the main floor there is a cursed chest - kill 100 enemies. In the process of finding the chest and killing the monsters around the chest and spawned from the chest, the bonus XP is incredible. I start with a Hellfire ring, lvl 70 weapon with a Gem of Ease, Hellfire amulet with a LoD gem. Almost immediately after killing just a few monsters I'm lvl 16-18 and I head back to town to get a helm with a socket in it and either put a top lvl ruby or this season, a lvl 3 special gem. Go back in and kill a few monsters and I'm at lvl 30. I head back to town, grab a Leoric's ring, check my inventory for other low lvl gear, update my skills and head back out and this time stay until I find the chest. By the time I'm done - just a few minutes - I'm at lvl 51-53. Go back to town, reset the game, check my inventory for other stuff I can wear and rinse repeat a couple of times and I'm at lvl 70.

Even when I start the season with my first character, I still go to that Act 2 location and run that chest, but obviously without tall the XP gear it takes longer but it's still the fastest way I've ever found to lvl 70.

So HC Barb it was. Using the Act 2 chest routine, it took me 44 minutes to level my Barb to lvl 70. Most of that time was spend in town. Once at 70, I loaded him up with all the legendaries and ancients I could fit on him and he ran LoD until he had a full set of Bul-Kathos. He could run T14 easily with all the extra defensive buffs I could lay on him and continued until he had a full wrath of the wastes set. Ran a GR 75, no problem; then a GR85, no problem and then went for it and bumped him to a GR100 which he completed easily in about 4 minutes. HC Barb to GR100 complete.

Still to consider: Witch Doctor, Necro and Crusader. I've always found the WD very fragile, ditto the Necro.

Well done! I still haven't decided what to do next but as I write this, I can feel I'm leaning a little Barbish.

Thanks Orbert. Now I have 3 HC characters and they've all done a GR 100 or better.

I started with a DH because I have the most experience with that class and soon had a Gears build that could do GR 95s in 2 minutes. Stocked the larder and started a Monk all decked out with all the extra XP gear and a lvl 65 Legacy of Dreams and 4 cursed chest events later had her at lvl 70. It was the fastest I'd ever done that by a long shot. It didn't take long to find the Inna's set and then GR 100 was a doddle.

Wound up a Wizard, rinse, repeat to a full Hydra set build. I intended to move over to the much more powerful Firebirds set for the run to 100, but since I've never had much luck with that build, decided to stretch and take a chance with the Hydra Wizard and it worked out.

I'm not sure what to do now. I just ticked 800 paragon for the HC season and I'd kind of like to run that up to a 1000 but I'm not sure I could endure the boredom of sheer repetition. I could start a Barb and see if I could get a fourth class to GR100 or a Witch Doctor maybe. Or I could take a run at getting the DH or Monk to GR110. TBD.

Nice job. It is tricky, remembering to have no set items equipped, I've forgotten many times.

I haven't done anything for a few days, boredom set in. Still mulling a HC character. I guess we'll see.

A different attitude indeed!

I run hot and cold on HC; sometimes it's all I want to play and others times I have no interest at all. One thing I continue to learn over and over again is how quickly I become bored trying to run higher GRs. Once it's taking 7-8 minutes, I feel like I just can't be bothered anymore.
