Diablo (now with Diablo 4 Hype) / Season 26 Huh?
« on: May 24, 2022, 06:05:33 PM »
I didn't see a post so I'm guessing not many are playing Season 26, season of the mini GRs. I thought it was an interesting concept but it just didn't push my buttons enough to make me want to push the buttons this season.

I did actually a couple of mini GRs but just didn't interest me. I understand that they have now made it a feature of non-season as well and that also makes no difference to me since I haven't played any non-season in a long, long time.

Well who knows, maybe season 27 will be more interesting.

Diablo (now with Diablo 4 Hype) / Anyone up for something new...ish

A couple of Weeks ago, SSB invited me to a four person meta MP game, running GR 120s. I have a support Monk which hadn't seen much action in a while but wanted to try so SSB helped me tweak some skills and attributes to make it simpatico with the latest meta and we were off.

Honestly, it was tough sledding for me. Old fingers, shrinking brain, but thank goodness we were on voice chat so the other guys could help keep me out of trouble. We only played for a couple of hours, but it was really interesting and rewarding. Playing meta characters in group is definitely a very different play style and I've been thinking ever since that it would be fun to have a clan group that could run meta builds a couple times a week. Not 120s - they require at least a couple of 3000+ paragon players - but no doubt we could clear 100s with a little practise.

I know SSB would be interested and could help with the builds as he has for me.

So what do you think? Anyone interested? If so, what time during the week / weekend could you be available? If we could get another 4-5 people besides SSB and myself, we'd likely always have enough people available to fill a group of 4 a couple of times a week. Of course, the more the merrier.

As mentioned, I don't play much meta but know that all groups require a Monk and a Barb for support. The Monk stays close to the main group and mainly provides damage reduction. The Barb is more of a scouting character and mob builder but also provides damage reduction. Damage characters usually include a trash killer, like the Firebats Witch Dr. and an elite killer like the Necro.

There are definitely some variations here, but SSB and the leader boards will have better and more specific information. This post is simply to gauge interest.

Would be Softcore on the NA server - at least to begin with.

Anyone interested?

Diablo (now with Diablo 4 Hype) / Non seasonal progression thread
« on: April 10, 2017, 10:42:01 AM »
I've never been much of a thread starter, but over here, alone in non season, it's been lonely. Oh sure, I have Kormac, but he's not really very good company and because he has no sense of humour, he hates it that I called myself Cluck.

I hit a real milestone today and one I really never thought I'd get to. I completed a 90 GR in 14:57 with my impale DH. I was buoyed by completing an 89 in good time and thought why not give it a go. It wasn't looking particularly good in the early and mid going. I was keeping up with the timer but not getting enough buffer for the RG. I finally found a power pylon and died almost immediately. As it was my 3rd or 4th death during the rift, it was pretty much expired when I resurrected. I pressed on and with about 96% complete, hit a conduit which cleaned up the trash and left me with less than 50 seconds to kill the RG. Fortunately, Stoneslinger popped with 3 seconds left on the timer. It was pretty exciting down here in the basement by myself.

My DH is pretty well geared, but if you like a fast, somewhat unique play style with lots of punch and tons of toughness (550,000,000 and can be another 100,000,000 higher - and it's permanent) I recommend this build. It's fun for GRs and farming as it blows T13 away.

Seems to be a natural for hardcore also and I never thought I'd hear myself say that after my last HC DH death.
