Diablo 3 / Season 14 - The Season of Greed
« Last post by Ray Patean on June 15, 2018, 08:31:30 AM »
So, it's the start of a new season. Anyone going to play?

The themed seasons could be pretty cool going forward - there's some decent potential for cool ideas, but let's see how Blizzard implements them.

I may play do some casual HC this season. Probably a Crusader.

Honestly, I haven't even half filled my 500gb SDD. I feel like 1 TB is overkill, but would rather have the space in case I need it.

I think I have a Win7 DVD around somewhere. Can you upgrade for free still?

I don't think so. But there's a better option anyway:

1. download the Win10 installation media
2. Create your bootable Win10 DVD or flash drive
3. After you build new PC, use this to install Win10
4. When it asks for an activation key, use your Win7 CD key and it should activate just fine

Microsoft doesn't SAY this will work. But it does. It was working in October 2017... It was still working in January 2018 ... Still working in March 2018. (edit: Another one from May 31, 2018!)

Basically, it looks like MS is being pretty dang generous about Win10 activations...

Sadly it is a valid point for a lot of soccer, and maybe sports in general.

Still the World Cup has a lot of drama that makes watching/following it a ton of fun.

Now is the list of teams mostly likely to win (in order of likelyhood):
  • Brazil

Color me shocked.

Why I don't pay attention - it's always the same winners. ;) [/list]

It's that time bitches!

I love the world cup.  My only regret about is that there are few teams that have a legit chance of winning.  I am always hoping for a first time winner.

IMO these are the teams with Legit chances to win who aren't in the obvious group.
  • Colombia
  • Belgium
  • Portugal
  • Mexico -- I don't really think they have a chance.
  • England -- Really don't belong on this list since they have won it before...but it has been something like 50 years
  • Croatia

Now is the list of teams mostly likely to win (in order of likelyhood):
  • Brazil
  • Germany
  • France
  • Spain
  • Argentina
  • Uruguay -- They have won it before...but chance wise they belong in the first group

Personally I am hoping for Colombia, highly unlikely (I was born there for those of you that don't know.)  After that I would enjoy a team from the first list.  In the second list I used to love Brazil, but I am a bit sick of them.  I lived in Brazil for six years so I do have an attachment to them.  Argentina hasn't won in a while so I wouldn't mind them.  After that I am really not a fan of any of them.  Germany is a really impressive team and I really hope they don't win.  A bit sick of Spain.  With Uruguay I really hate their best player Suarez; such an asshole.

First game starts in 2 minutes!

I haven't played any Kingdom Hearts games, but seeing Frozen, Tangled, Pirates of the Caribbean, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Toy Story involved (with every character looking as good as the movies) was certainly fun to watch, and fun to watch the reactions of those who are big fans.  They will be releasing a package with 1.5HD, 2.5HD, 2.8 and 3 for $100 when 3 comes out in January (and a special edition PS4 bundle).

Some gameplay reactions:

Anthem allows for quick flying and hovering, so it focuses on mobility.  There's a heat cooldown so catching fire lessens the time you can fly (whereas flying underwater lets you constantly use your jets).  There are cross-ability and cross-class combos ala ME3/DA:I/MEA.  Everyone has said it feels very intuitive.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an entire seamless open-world with no loading screens, in first-person only while walking.  You can drive around the city in first or third-person, and everyone was surprised at how dense the city was with NPCs.  Not sure if the gameplay has improved much over Witcher 3, but they've got the world-building down.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is single-player only (no weird Soulsborne multiplayer mechanics), has a dedicated jump button with a lot more verticality in your moveset, and focuses primarily on parries and tool-usage as your primary weapon is pretty much always a Katana.  Much more Ninja than Samurai (in comparison to Ghost of Tsushima which was very Samurai).  There is some type of mechanic which involves dying, possibly to get a boost to damage or activate special abilities (sounded somewhat similar to the Souls form mechanic in Demon's Souls).

There are so many good games out there, and I guess D2 is still out there. :P

I love the Fallout games, but will have to skip this one.  But what do I know, I still play Diablo 2, so, yeah, go go me.  FAIL!   ;)
