Immortal monster?? I just got chased around a rift by a normal monster that wouldn't die.
It was capable of doing damage to me (this was HC) but no amount of damage would kill it.
There was no name above the monster, but it was one of those ranged attack dudes that
shoot a purple sphere. Has this happened to anyone else?

It used to happen once in a while.  I haven't had it happen for a while, but it sounds like it can still happen.

Since you can't Town Portal or use the Waypoint Map to get away from it (you get hit, which interrupts the process), I can think of only two options:

1 - There's some bracers or shoulders or something that prevent your Town Portal from being interrupted.  Obviously this only helps if you happen to have them on or with you.

2 - Find an entrance/exit to or from the area you're in.  If you can pass through a doorway or portal to another area or level or whatever, it can't follow you.

I did something I haven't done in a while.  I put a Gem of Ease into a weapon, started a brand-new character, and gave it to him.  I know, nothing particularly new about this, but I still think it's hilarious.  Crank it to Torment VI or so, go up several levels every time you kill anything (for a while).

Witch Doctor Endugu lives again!  Yeah, I named him Endugu.  So sue me.  Got him to Level 70 in one day.  Again, nothing particularly novel about that, although it was iffy because the wife wanted me to take her shopping for a while, and we had dinner while we were out and stuff.  This was last Saturday.  I'd gotten him up to 67 by lunchtime, took a break to eat lunch, then we went shopping.  I couldn't remember if I'd ever gone from 0 to 70 in a single day before, so I really wanted to do it, but these are the sacrifices we make for those we love.  Got home about 10:00 at night after a nice dinner, got him to 70.

He's using the Helltooth set, which I've never used before.  Pretty fun, pretty powerful, although I still think it's kinduv cheesy how it works.  Cast this one skill, then your other skills get +4000% damage for a while or whatever it is.  One of the Demon Hunter sets works the same way.  Cast Rain of Vengeance, then everything else does obscene damage for a while.  Oh well, it's fun, and fun is all that matters.

Hardcore would be terrifying indeed.

I've been running some actual GRifts blind lately (as opposed to regular Rifts or levelling).  Ran a few GR 74's with my Demon Huntress the other night.  I think 76 is the highest she's done anyway, so it's a few notches down, but still high enough to be interesting and challenging.  My Barb gets up to around GR 50 before he starts slowing down.  I've got to work on him.

That was one of the coolest things about the movie.  At the beginning, when Rey first finds Luke, he asks her what she thought was going to happen when she found him.  Was he supposed to go out and face down the entire First Order or something?  Then he does exactly that.  Remotely of course, because they would've blown him to bits, but he did it.

Some of the Rift Guardians have "minions" (or whatever you call them) which stick around after you kill the Guardian.  The rock dude has those little weird circle things that can cause damage, the Skeleton King summons skeletons, etc.  I've killed Rift Guardians and then had to kill those other things before I could talk to Urshi because they kept hitting me and closing the gem window.

Not to make light of your issue (R.I.P.) but I've kinda wondered if those things could actually kill you after you kill the RG.  I think this might be the answer.

Oh yeah, you can go around the other way, but why is one of the doors "permanently locked"?  It doesn't seem different from any of the other special doors.  It just seems like there was supposed to be something else there.

So I got the mushroom, made the potion, got the note, did all that stuff in town (half remembering and half just clicking randomly on the dead townsfolk), got Wirt's Leg, and even went to the Abandoned Farmstead or whatever it is.  Lots of cows, but that's it.  Then I looked and saw that I have the Royal Calf already (Seasonal Characters can use your non-Seasonal Pets) so apparently whatever was supposed to happen didn't happen I guess.  Disappointing.

But overall, I still have to commend Blizzard on doing this, even if they didn't change anything this time around.  Obviously a fair amount of effort went into it, and I think I actually enjoyed it more this time.  Last time, I found it a bit hokey how they'd obviously used D3 tilesets to "approximate" the D1 sets.  This time, I found it interesting how well they'd actually done it and how much thought they'd put into it.  The Butcher scared the hell out of me, just as he did 20 years ago.  Halls of the Blind is still creepy and spooky.

Is there a bug in the Blood Stone set piece?  I found three of the red stone balls and placing each one on the altar opened a door, but there's still one door that's locked by some "unknown mechanism", but the map looks like I've done everything.  I can't find any more red balls, it looks like you could fit more onto the altar, and there's the one door that won't open (though you can just go around the other way).  What's up with that?

Not a problem.  I actually think it's kinda funny, in a twisted sort of way.

I started a Hardcore Seasonal Barb on Europe so Sssithy and I could multi, but we never seem to get our shit together.  Meanwhile Bruno the Barb made it to 70 and has some Paragon points now.  Since I've already used Haedrig's Gifts, he's gotta do it all himself in terms of equipment, too.  I thought that maybe because he's Hardcore, that the whole Season Journey stuff would be separate, but it's not.  Haedrig has made him some cheapo Set stuff from recipes to get him going.

I was running bounties and happened to run into Oah' Tash, the big purple guy in the Gardens of Hope.  The bounty wasn't to kill him or anything, he was just there, but of course I killed him anyway.  A little while later, I ran into him again.  I thought maybe I was mistaken and it was his cousin Kao' Ahn I'd killed earlier, but I checked the log and it was Oah'Tash again.

I looked it up and it's a known bug.  People who get the bounty for him are sometimes surprised to run into him again since he's a "unique" monster.  But he wasn't even the bounty; there were just two of him a little ways apart.

I try to be reasonably discrete online regarding my habits.  I'll make a passing mention here or there, but my basic rule is Don't Ask, Don't Tell.  And I was using that rule for a long time before the miltary commandeered it (pun possibly intended), so I get to keep using it for its original intended purpose.

While gaming, while playing music, while listening to music, pretty any time I'm not at work is possible time.  Or not.  If I'm hanging with those who don't partake, I'll refrain, or if it's suitable, I'll indulge before hooking up with them.  I've been doing this for 40 years; I've got it pretty figured out.  There are people who I've hung with dozens of times or more, and they know no other Orbert.  I find that interesting.

Different types affect different people differently, and there are all different types of both MJ and people.  I completely understand people who say it just makes them feel sleepy, or their senses feel dulled, or what.  It's a different buzz from, say, alchohol.  Personally, I rarely enjoy alcohol.  But I've found something I do enjoy both socially and recreationally, so hey, what a country.  Except it's still illegal in my state, so I still have to keep it kinda quiet.

I think that's how it works.  Mine's the same on EU and Americas.

Oh yeah, Hardcore.  I think if I start a Hardcore character, they get the set, since it's a separate database or whatever.

What's your battletag?  I'm Orbert#1313

I don't think so.  I play on the Europe server sometimes, though I haven't recently because I got pissed off at it.  I had a Lady Necro doing pretty well there (finished Chapter Four, had the complete set, was working on collecting stuff and generally building the character) and when she got back from a Rift, she visited Orek, the Rift closed, and I figured all was cool.  I had to go to the bathroom, then right after that my wife asked me to help her with something.  I figured if I timed out and got disconnected, no biggie, since the game auto-saves every so often, and I've never had an issue with it before.

When I came back, sure enough I'd timed out, but when I re-connected and tried to start the character back up, I got some kind of error saying that the saved version was out of sync with the server or some shit.  I closed Diablo III and tried again, same error.  I completely closed out of the Blizzard app and tried again, same error.  So apparently it hadn't auto-saved, or maybe it didn't register the Rift properly or something.  One thing was for sure, it was not going to let me play this character anymore, so I deleted the character.  Now I don't feel like starting another Seasonal character because the new one won't get the free set.

So anyway, no, I don't think so.   :P
