Been playing quite a bit of Yakuza Kiwami 2 this week.  About 2/3rds of the way through, just now getting to some of the really good references to the previous 2 games.  Laughed out loud several times during the Cabaret Club mini-game, such as the description of playing dress-up with the girls saying "You know you love it."  (How did they know?!  :o  ;))  And I just reached a point where a character from Yakuza 0's version of that game returns in glorious, jaw-dropping fashion that forced me to learn how to take screenshots on my PS4.  Combat-wise it's a little less stiff than 0 or Kiwami but also less precise and less deep since there aren't multiple combat styles, though you can move a lot faster and there are a lot more weapons and destructible items around.  The biggest upgrade between 0/Kiwami and this one is that the upgrade to Yakuza 6's system which cuts out almost all loading times and makes the world almost completely seamless.  You can walk in and out of any restaurant or activity building without loading, and even bring fights inside of them (though they aren't too happy about that).  The side stories have been good, but most aren't quite as ridiculously memorable as those in 0.  Haven't done too much with the Clan Creator yet, which is kind of a top-down real-time strategy game where you try to defend your construction equipment against enemies, though the victory theme is kinda catchy.

Yeah, patch 1.13 back in 2010 boosted the rune drop rates by about 2.5x-4x, based on the drop calc numbers.  It's not a huge difference really, since that only brings down the odds of a random monster dropping a Ber rune for example from about 1 in 10 million to 1 in 4.4 millon (depending on the monster obviously), and a Zod went down from 1 in 60 million to 1 in 15 million.

Nice finds!  Yeah, RNG is funny sometimes.  Haven't found either Titan's Revenge or Thunderstroke so I can't realistically make a good Javazon.  Still no Harlequin Crest, Skullder's Ire, Oculus, Stormshield, or Tal's Adjudication, so my Sorc gear is somewhat limited.  Oh, but out of the 18 unique amulets I've found, I now have THREE Seraph's Hymns.  I started doing Pindle runs the other night after having gone maybe a month since even thinking about them (mostly doing Baal/Meph/Tunnel runs with my Barb), and the FIRST run he drops Shadow Dancers, the SECOND run he drops Messerschmidt's Reaver (dropped another one about 60 runs later).

More finds this week: another Ethereal Reaper's Toll (my 2nd, 4th overall) 225%ED/12%LL, a Mav's Diadem, a Seraph's Hymn, a perfect Boneshade (+2/3/3/5/5 skills), a +2 bow/crossbow skill 20%IAS +14 Dex 3%LL set of gloves, 2x Jalal's Mane, 2x Alma Negra (both with +2 skills, although low +ED%), and a Kira's Guardian (+56 resists).

You can do all these in SP ..  for some of the most recent ones you needed a small file to enable, eg spirit.   don't let "ladder only" put you off.  Hell even the SPF allows all the runewords

Although the most common methods would not work for me since I'm on a Mac (which requires version 1.14+ which is what added newer Mac OS support, most of the mods require 1.13 or lower), I probably wouldn't use them anyway.  I haven't needed the crutch, and I'm still surviving and finding items at a decent clip using the game "as is".

Yeah, at least from what I've read online the Ubers will summon minions with pretty much all immunities (Diablo summoning Pit Lords that are immune to literally everything but physical, Baal summoning Specters and Dark Lords that are immune to physical, etc.), which is why it was intended to require a diverse group of players.  Dealing with the bosses alone is a lot more simple, though it still requires a very strong or specialized build.

I think the game is taunting me for not using PlugY, since I got 3 Lo runes from various places in a 24-hr period after never having seen one in 17 years.  There are only 2 runewords that I can make with them, neither of them that great (well, Doom is decent, but it also requires a Cham), whereas there are 8 ladder-only runewords that use Lo that are ridiculously powerful like Grief, Fortitude, and Pride.  Could cube 2 of them to a Sur, which I might do for a Bramble for my Necro, although I'd have to respec some of his skills towards Poison to make use of that function.

LOL, I haven't found a Skullder's either  :'( ;D . I've been using the GoMule program to track my progress on items (68% of uniques, 84% of set items in about 2 months of play), which has helped quite a bit when I would otherwise waste space on a unique I have 3-4 of already.  A lot of my more recent drops have had terrible rolls on them, like a +1 skills Eschuta's Temper with 10/12 skills damage (rolls 1-3 for skills and 10-20 for damage), +3/3/3 skills on Wolfhowl with 8/8/15 stats (rolls 3-6 on skills, 8-15 on stats), +15 to resists Saracen's Chance (rolls 15-25), etc.

Not too many great D2 drops this week: near perfect Steelrend (+206 defense, perfect 60%ED, +19 Str), Tal Rasha's Guardianship, Boneflame (near minimum on all rolls though), an 8%LL Carrion Wind, a Reaper's Toll, 2x Ethereal Edges, and a 23% DR Leviathan.  Sadly still very few high-end runes, although I am just an Ist away from making a Call to Arms.  Getting bored again with it, might finally take the plunge into something else new soon (probably Yakuza Kiwami 2).

I believe if I remember right, I did 8 patriarchs on 1.09, then 1 on 1.10, then quit D2 somewhere around 2008 or 2009.  After reinstalling the game last month having not had much else to play, I finally got another one:

Patriarch Strongjaw
Level 86
Strength 187 (238)
Dexterity 55 (100)
Vitality 258
Energy 10
HP: 1436 (2929)
Resists: 33/57/32/26
Defense: 15376 (with Merc and Shout, Concentrate boosts it more)
Skills: 20 Mace Mastery, 20 Whirlwind, 20 Battle Orders, 10 in Concentrate, 5 in Shout, 4 in Natural Resistance, 1 in various others
Gear: IK Maul (2 Shaels), IK Helm (2 PTopazs), IK Gloves, IK Belt, IK Boots, Steel Carapace, Dwarf Star, Safety Amulet (+1 Barb skills, all resist +13), Blood Ring (7% LL, +Life, 28 Poison Res), 2x 2-Shaeled Ali Babas on switch (for finishing bosses and for "hoark"ing)

Merc: Defiance - Pierre Tombale Couant, Guillame's Face, Skin of the Flayed One

My Paladin and Sorceress got to Hell first and did most of the farming for a while, but the Barb was just much tankier and got through the tougher parts of Act 5 much easier.  It's really all about the enemy spawns.  Just now I figured I'd see what the WSK had for me, and not only did it not have any Burning Souls, it had mostly Flayers which come in huge packs that can't really damage me due to the high base-DR from Steel Carapace and provide a huge amount of bodies to hoark (nothing good this run though besides a 5-socket Thresher, my MF has been relatively low throughout so I already have 4, 5, and 6 socket polearms, crystal swords, phase blades, etc., but no runes to make runewords with).  A WW Barb is also pretty awesome for getting through the ice caves which can be extremely hard in Hell, because there usually at least 2 of the 3 types of monsters do Cold damage, which slows down the WW movement but not the attack speed, letting me hit enemies several times more.  I've been doing various runs with him, focusing on the Ancient Tunnels mostly, finding decent stuff now and then (found a Tal Rasha's armor and a Stoneraven today).

On a related note, I've been watching more Youtubers and streamers that play Diablo 2 (it seems to have been getting a lot more popular lately), and they pretty much all run PlugY.  While the shared stash and summed up stat listing (tells you how much MF/FCR/FHR you have total so you don't have to do math manually) are generally fine, I kinda question the not-so-complete Uber quest inclusion that lets people farm for Annihilus charms and Hellfire Torches without much effort and at a much reduced difficulty.  For the sake of your own enjoyment, you can pretty much do whatever you want, but some of the Youtubers put out all sorts of videos showing off their crazy damage on builds that would never work without 10 skill charms plus Hellfire plus Infinity Polearm merc or whatever (plus they use PlugY to instantly respec infinitely, using the same character for every video).  Things get a little shadier when showing off your hacked normally-ladder-only runewords with 20 optimized charms and such as though it was earned and offering that build as an example for new players (who can't use those runewords, or likely won't have that gear for months or years).  I watched about 5 different "Budget Build" videos from 5 different people and all of them included ridiculously rare stuff that I haven't found yet.  I mean, who really cares at this point, though I guess I just remember the integrity we tried to uphold in the SPF days, so people that are actually making money off of generally terrible advice and shadiness bugs me a bit (not all of the Youtubers/streamers are bad though).

Finds for the week so far: Steel Carapace (sadly not ethereal), 2x Wizardspike, Windhammer, Shadowkiller, a +1 Passive and Magic Skills (Amazon)/+38 Life Grand Charm, and a +2 Traps, All Resists +19, +22% MF, +35 Life, 22 Teleport charges Amulet.  Also finally found an Immortal King's Will even though I'd found everything else of the set except the Armor before it, so I respec-ed my Frenzybarb to a WW/Concentrate build using the set and the Steel Carapace for great defense (although still mediocre resists right now).  Been mostly MF-ing with my Sorc in the Ancient Tunnels and killing Hell Andariel looking for jewelry, since I still haven't found any unique ring above a Manald's, so Cannot Be Frozen stuff has been hard to find (been mostly using upped-Hawkmails on my melee characters).

I think D2 is telling my Sorc to move on from farming Act 1/2 Hell stuff.  She got a 149/33/10 Gheed's from Duriel, then my first Griswold's Redemption from a unique blood lord pack in Durance lvl 3, another Ohm from one of the Council minions, and a Baranar's Star from Mephisto.  Looks like the River of Flame/Chaos Sanctuary is going to be a problem though, since Abyss Knights are lightning immune and have a ridiculous amount of health for my Blizzard to chew through without me or my merc dying (or getting bored from dodging their shots for 2-3 minutes).  I suppose I could respec if it gets too annoying.

Edit - Did about 10 more Meph runs.  Got several neat things, like a Thundergod's Vigor and a Naj's Puzzler.  The last one I did netted an Azurewrath (267% ED, +10 attributes, lvl 10 aura).  I didn't even know Mephisto could drop it, and I've never seen a Lightsabre either.  Of course, I don't have any lvl 85 characters yet (Sorc is 84, Paladin 83), so it's just sitting there, but it seems pretty rare.

More drops this week: Giant Skull from the Ancient Tunnels (+258 defense, 2 sockets, +27 STR), Ethereal 4 socket Dusk Shroud, regular 3 and 4 socket Dusk Shrouds, 4 socket Archon Plate, and a Djinn Slayer.  Still not sure how I've found a Giant Skull and a Crown of Ages before finding any other Exceptional or Elite Unique helm (besides one Peasant Crown).  Also my Paladin found a 2 socket Crown Shield pretty early on, which was great for a Rhyme, but I hadn't found a 2 socket paladin shield with decent resists with ANY character until I found one with +32 resist with no sockets that I luckily rolled 2 sockets with the cube, so now it can be a "better" Rhyme.

The only time the uber bosses in BL were fun for me was when I was with a friend that had been given a bugged shield with basically infinite regen, so they could stay alive while the rest of us died over and over.  We did this on Crawmerax in BL1 over and over just to see the 500+ items drop so we could spend 20+ minutes combing the field for cool stuff.  Never found a group to get through any of them in BL2.  No matter what gear I found I always died in 2 hits.

Been doing more Mausoleum runs to get the Hell gear I need.  Found an Ohm rune, the only "high end" rune I've found so far, but then took a break to get some other characters up to where they could maybe do the runs faster than my Pally.  Brought my Lightning Sorc into Hell to do Mausoleum runs (granted, she's using Blizzard for that since everything there is lightning-immune), and on her 2nd run she gets a near-perfect Crown of Ages (2 sockets, all resist +29, damage reduced by 15%), which I think is my first TC87 unique.  My Pally (or Barb) should find Hell much easier now.

Been trying to farm gear to survive gear with at least one character going into D2 Hell again (who can then farm for everyone else).  Had a Mace Frenzybarb kill NM Diablo and get a near-perfect Serpentskin Armor (35 resist, 12 MDR), and then when going through the Bloody Foothills had a group of 3 champion Demon Imps that dropped a Repeating Crossbow, Gothic Axe, and War Maul.  Not all super useful but pretty cool to see 3 uniques from the same champion pack.  Put the armor on my lightning Sorc, did a NM Baal run with her and a Seraph's Hymn dropped (a first for me).
