Tutorial for Devotions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA3U8f4loVw

Basically it is a system of constellations.  Each constellations give you bonuses.  Some are skills augmentors.  Across three difficulties you get a maximum of 50 devotion points.  You get a point from fixing or redeeming shrines.

Devotions are also associated with a God.  So they are divided up in green, red, blue, gold, and purple.  Some devotions need a point (or more), in one or more colors in order to use them.  So you have to plan out how to get from the basic devotions to ones that have better bonuses.  You can also respec your devotions.  This is useful, not just because you might mess up, but it allows you to do some trickery to get to the better ones.

Anyway it is a nice thing to puzzle over.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic.  I know what it is, just haven't even really looked at it to figure it out.  I'm just putting points where they tell me to :)

Sorry about that.  Keep forgetting that sarcasm doesn't translate well online.  The main reason I don't communicate much online.

Started up a Witch Hunter and not really following a guide this time.  I think it fits my style a bit more than Commando.  Acid damage with poison explosions is kind of cool.  Level 18, time to pay the Warden a visit.

Once I finish my Veteran play through I will probably start over with my own build.  Witch Hunter does seem like an interesting class, good luck with the Warden.

Is there an ETA for the expansion?  I want to play this again, but with the new classes/areas/etc announced, I'd almost rather wait before restarting.

My understanding is that it is in testing but no schedule for release.

That's my understanding also.

Expansion is out today, and the original game is $7.50 on Steam.  You can pick up both together for ~$25 today.

I need to get back to the game.  Between this and Elite Dangerous I have a full plate.

I started idling/selling Steam cards the night before last in order to pick up this xpack. I'm up to a bit over $15, so I'll probably be able to nab this sometime this weekend. Looking forward to the necromancer - I've heard only good things.

Nabbed it. Necromancer is good. Working on a Death Knight (necromancer/soldier). I'm gonna be a skellie-mancer in massive armor with a greatsword and just wreck the world. :D

Your first skill raises 3 skeletons. They are insanely fast, wickedly durable, and they mow down everything. They spawn randomly with either melee weapons or crossbows.

I also started a Necromancer (went Necro/Occult for the classic D2 summon/curse feel), and skeletons are indeed strong.  The Warden dropped a wand with +1 max skeletons, so I have 9 total; so far, the only challenge has been the Executioner, and that was only due to his invisibility.  My only deaths have come from not respecting the Conflagration enough and trying to run through aether fire :P

I fired this up again, and I have a level 26ish soldier/nightblade. This is the highest character I've managed to get, so hopefully I'll keep it rolling for a while.
