I watched IT.  IT was better than I expected it to be.  (That could get confusing really fast)
Considering IT is one of my two favorite books of all time, I'll never find a movie adaptation as good as the book.   But I was pleased overall - far moreso than the turd they called a made for TV movie.

Caught The Hitman's Bodyguard a while back and I don't know if I mentioned it.  It was crude, raunchy, overly violent, and vaguely ridiculous.  So basically it was exactly what I was expecting.  So yes, that was just fine with me.  Ryan Reynolds telling a random vendor that Sam Jackson's character has basically ruined the phrase 'motherfucker' forever was delightfully tongue-in-cheek... but don't expect anything deep.

Oh, and my wife bought me Trolls.  Shut up!  It's delightful and cute and fun.  I watched it twice.   8) ;D

I also saw IT.

I thought it was really well done.

Not really that scary but a good story well executed.

Saw Escape Plan finally.  Arnie + Sly and good supporting cast.  Seems there isn't much hope for a while.  I enjoyed it and will watch it again one day
I watched this in the past week! I actually quite liked it too.

Also watched an older action movie Stone Cold, about a mulleted Alabama cop who goes undercover in a kinda peculiar motorcycle gang. Really enjoyed it, somewhat of a guilty pleasure though. It's very '80s, though released in 1991.

Re-watched the following:
The Matrix - still great.
The Expendables 1/2/3 - definitely enjoyed them...again :)

saw the first 2 episodes of star trek discovery. better than i expected. now the question is whether to pay for the CBS streaming service to keep watching the series, as it won't be shown on broadcast tv. i had previously planned on NOT doing that....
Breaking: Trump throws his support behind Putin for Alabama senate seat.

I'm interested in watching the show. I saw the preview on Netflix, hoping it will all be watchable on it...

Otherwise disappoint :(

iirc, it'll be available on netflix everywhere but the US, where it'll be on CBS's own service instead.

IT
Enjoyed it. Some superb performances, especially from a talented group of children. Bill Skaarsgard excellent as Pennywise and his own take is different to that of Tim Curry's. Felt the approach of just making a solid narrative about the kids was a good choice, rather than a sequence of flashbacks from the memory of adults.

I do think that 15minutes of the film were just a waste. The first visit to the Well House did nothing to progress the plot and the division of the Losers was meaningless, given it was reconciled in a decidedly unconvincing manner. I felt those 15mins would have been better spent on having Henry Bowers and his cronies hunting the kids in the sewers, as per the book, given the movie had done a great job of making Henry such a frightening figure. Felt how he was handled at the end was disappointing but, I suspect that means they're going to exercise his character from Chapter 2 completely.

I'm hoping that Chapter 2 tries to make something more interesting of what IT is, as opposed to "space monster" (as per the book) or "giant spider" (as per the mini-series, without explaining why), and actually do what King was on the verge of exploring in the book. That IT is a manifestation of the malaise and difference of the adults of Derry, rather than the thing causing it. But, we'll see.
