2.6.1
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:30:54 PM »
The new Karlei's dagger is just sick!! I did an easy grift 83 with non-ancient weapon. I can see someone doing
a 120 grift soon with the Impale DH build. I can't wait to try some of the other new stuff, seems they buffed every class.

The power is there across the board with this patch!  In a 4-player group, we were
able to do as high as GR 119.  GR 120 looks possible already as well.  I managed to
get Bane of the Trapped, Stricken and Taeguk to rank 120 last night!

I logged on this morning and was using the upgrade rare recipe and scored a primal Karlie's. My best previous was a 93 with the Shadow build and so I jumped in with a 95 and easily  finished. So I bumped to 100 GR and completed it with 2 minutes remaining.

Looking forward to bumping gems and trying new builds.

GG Bob.

I patched up and cleared out my Seasonal stashes on Us and EU.

I haven't played for ~6 weeks because I've been getting back into Hearthstone, but will probably play the season so get my final tab on EU.

Wow, the buffs are really massive with this patch!

I got a new version of the Yang's Recurve, Wraps of Clarity, and Dead Man's Legacy, all non-ancient, and proceeded to easily do a GR70 with my hardcore UE DH.  Previous high was a GR65 and that was with ancient gear and it was a struggle.

I also easily did a GR 82 with my softcore Helltooth Garg WD after switching the jewelry spot in the cube to the Short Man's Finger, equipping a new non-ancient Mask of Jeram ,and equipping a crappy RoRG.  Previous high was a GR76 I think.

Bob and Cluck will be pushing the limits in this patch!!

I have been playing a HC necro in the campaign to have a slower experience to get a feel of things.  I have a few things in the stash which means its not too slow.  Up to level 33 and the oasis now.

It's pretty cool. I have been running speed 95s for xp and fun with my Impale DH. I would guess the patch increased it's capabilities for me by about 10 -12 GRs. Finally decided I should try something different and watched some videos by Rykker. He indicated that the UE DH was likely to be one of the very top builds so I blew a bunch of crafting mats to get a new Yangs and DML and ended up with versions just slightly better than really good non ancient. Oh well, gave it a go at level 90 and finished in about 10 minutes.

Now I haven't played much UE DH, but I can't see it beating the Impale DH, unless my gear is worse than I think - and that is entirely possible. Nonetheless, it is a firecracker on T13 rifts and bounties and will become my new runner for those.

I don't know what to try next. The Hammerdin seems very strong but I don't have much gear. It will take some time to find and craft reasonable pieces so I'll watch some more videos and see whether I like the play style enough to put in the effort. I know I also want to try a WW Barb as I enjoyed playing it previously and now that it's been strengthened, I'd like to see where I can get it to on the GRs. And then there is the Monk and Wiz. So many choices.

I also updated my WD Chicken build and although Bob's is strong enough to MP T13, mine dies too fast still. Too bad. Love the chicken.

I decided to play my UE Multishot DH a bit, see what all the fuss is about, and damn, that's some serious power creep there!  The new DML quiver alone raised me a few GRift levels, and a new Yang's Recurve got me a few more.  Problem is, they're replacing Ancients in both slots, and both had some Caldesann's bumps to them as well.  I finally scored Ancients of both, but the bow is weak and the quiver not much better.  But she broke 70 finally, currently 74, while I try to land some better gear.

I wonder if that is something that stops me spending more time in the game.  No matter what you get, its only possibly the next patch away from becoming utter trash.

I try not to let myself get into that mentality.  Just because they could boost something later doesn't make it "utter trash" now, and if it's fun now, then go with it.  I never let "this could be better" stop me from enjoying what's good now, especially if there's no guarantee that it will be better later.

Besides, Blizzard's philosophy of infinite replayability really does seem to be them changing stuff a lot.  And it works.  I'd pushed both my Demon Hunters as far as they could go, and was getting bored.  But now one of them is extra super powerful!!  That's good for several more hours of play, at least.

its a mixture, they do buff stuff, but if you look at the Blizzcon schedule Diablo is their worst franchise and its lucky to get any talk or anything.

I was able to get a good 2nd BK sword to drop and decided to
give a GR 100 a go with Whirlwind.  It went smoothly enough
and was completed in time without great maps.  The changes to
the BK swords made a great deal of difference in performance
with the Wastes' set.
