Gaming General / Re: Your newest games

Hmm I picked up War of the Chosen a month or so ago and blitzed through that.  Absolute tonne of fun and really improves the Xcom 2 experience.  At Christmas I was lucky to obtain a Switch along with Mario Odyssey, Mario vs Rabbids, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.  On top of that my parents got me Uncharted Lost Legacy so looking forward to playing that to.

And of course, I've still Witcher 3 to finish :D

Definitely a slow year, and I seem to have completely abandoned Witcher 3.  I should go back to that!

I thought the film was ok. I think there are serious problems with the world building that i might go into when I have more time (e.g. first order, despite no longer having the resources of ruling the galaxy, builds bigger and better super weapons and star destroyers than ever before.

Also, why didn't the first order just hyperspace some ships to the other side of the fleeing fleet?

Maybe I misunderstood the honourable gentleman's comment here http://gamersoasis.net/index.php?topic=95.msg1549#msg1549 :)

I haven't played this at all since they broke my nightblade build with the skill changes in the last big patch.

I'm still mad.

So I subbed to FF14 instead.

A few weeks ago you were asking why I'd sub to a terrible MMO like FF14! :D

99.89% of games with MP are dead.  Of course anything older than 6 months that still has a community alive is special.
What an oddly specific percentage...

I had to buy a new Switch and games since my old one got stolen a couple months back. Other than Disgaea (which I burnt out on without completing - zero story and hollow loot/character progression systems), I've been re-playing Zelda and messing around with Wonderboy 3 (which is awesome). I need a new RPG and have my eye on two which are out in about 3 weeks: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Battle Chasers: Nightwar.

Has anyone here played previous Xenoblade games or Battle Chasers on PS4? Worth getting?

I absolutely loved Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii.  It was a total JRPG though so if that isn't your bag then it's hard to recommend.

I really liked Xcom2, and the expansion is meant to improve it hugely.  That said, I agree it is absurdly priced.  I am waiting for a deal on it as I don't believe it will hold that price that for long.

Between Witcher 3, MMOs and Hearthstone, I'm not really getting many completions in!

In fairness, I haven't played ESO. Was judging purely on Morrowind and skyrim  :D

Also I'm stunned you can criticise FF14s combat (which is medicore) and support any Elder Scrolls combat (which in all I've played is universally terrible).

We're clearly at an impasse as WoW is obviously the best MMO and my FFXIV character is a Lalafell  :D

Hey the latest expansion has been getting really great reviews and I'm a sucker for the series.  So far I've played the following MMOs (that I can remember):

World of Warcraft
FFXIV
FFXI
Tera
EVE Online
LOTRO
Guild Wars 2
Dark Age of Camelot

Of these I think this is the one I've enjoyed the second most.  The gameplay is serviceable but I am really enjoying the fact that the storyline is core to the game - something a lot of MMOs seem to ignore in favour of just random grinds and dungeons.

It's actually a reasonably short game,  so may be easier to tackle with than, say, Witcher 3 ;)

That's true.  But a certain MMO addicted mutual friend of ours got me into FFXIV...
