Diablo 3 / Re: Out Of Memory Error
« on: November 20, 2017, 04:43:17 AM »
Couple days, all good now.

May not affect you guys with more RAM perhaps. I only have 8GB on this aging rig (new one in the works though).

If it does happen though, using 32bit seems to fix the issue.

Yeah, that was a sweet view.  I like how it "went all 3-D" there.

Old school 3-D was the best 3-D :)

Reminds me of my favourite D2 spot, the view from Mt Arreat after fighting the Ancients!

Diablo 3 / Re: Out Of Memory Error
« on: November 18, 2017, 09:39:09 PM » might want to you a memory test on your RAM.  Also make sure your drivers are up to date.

All done, all good.

Some searching indicates that there is a memory leak with 64bit D3 with latest patch. Seems fairly well documented by players on Bnet forums. No official confirmation though. One such thread here. Everything that i've read links the problem to 2.6 and 64bit D3.

I did some fiddling and got the 32bit D3 program to run and have had no issues with it so far...

Diablo 3 / Out Of Memory Error
« on: November 18, 2017, 03:56:34 PM »
Started getting this error a few days ago, basically stating that D3 has crashed because of low memory.

Never happened before though and I have 8GB RAM (same as always). Literally nothing has changed since I installed the game, but now this is happening.

Just lost my fairly good DH to the error. Searching suggests that it can be caused by a memory leak in the 64-bit version (but i have always used 64-bit and it wont let me launch in 32). Others suggest to small a paging file, low RAm, low VRAM etc. Problem is, nothing about my system has actually  changed.

Anyone had the same error?

I'm looking at the Season rewards and wondering....why play seasonal?

Only reason is for MP it seems, the rewards are lackluster...

edit: I should clarify...the cosmetic rewards are fairly good (angelic wings, portrait), but I want banners and pets :(

Ok I knuckled down and started a new HC Witch Doctor. Getting the feel for the game again :) Level 40 or so and up to the Drowned Temple. Levels go crazy fast with Paragon points and a powerful weapon, playing on T5 now to keep it a bit more challenging.

Books / Re: "Classics"
« on: November 04, 2017, 05:52:10 PM »
Interesting subject. I find the classics...difficult. I am spoiled by modern writing I think.

However, I have read:

Moby Dick Herman Melville
The Picture of Dorian Gray Oscar Wilde
The Catcher in the Rye JD Salinger
Treasure Island Robert Louis Stevenson
Frankenstein Mary Shelley
Dracula Bram Stoker
To Kill a Mockingbird Harper Lee
Animal Farm George Orwell

All of which I enjoyed except Harper Lee and Orwell.  I am not a connoisseur by any means.

I have War and Peace, Crime and Punishment, Paradise Lost and a couple others that I can't get into. Read most of the Bible also.

Never got into Shakespeare and it wasn't taught when I was in school.

A lot of the books strike me as THIS IS AN IMPORTANT BOOK, rather that this is fun to read!, which is fine for school, but not for my leisure.

I opened the game yesterday...

DarkD3 shader doesn't work anymore and I hate the default graphics. Too colorful and cartoony. Played with ReShade and SweetFX for a bit, got it to look ok.

Loaded a character and couldn't remember how to play =\

Starting new character seemed difficult...closed the game :(

Might try again soon though.

Couldn't see a game sales thread, do we still have one?

Anyways, I'll post here for now:

Humble Jumbo Bundle 10 has Wasteland 2 at the $10 tier, for those interested. Considering getting it myself.

There is also Prototype 2, which I am not familiar with anyone played it?

I really liked Xcom2, and the expansion is meant to improve it hugely.  That said, I agree it is absurdly priced.  I am waiting for a deal on it as I don't believe it will hold that price that for long.

Decided against buying the DLC (yet). But I have installed the mod A Better Advent, which adds a variety of different enemies and adds some difficulty; definitely recommend it.

Other than that I picked up Wolfenstein: The New Order and I am really enjoying the gameplay and setting. I find some of it the dual wielding mecahnic, bleh.  Ovrall great game so far though.

Sorry can't do scary games (or movies...or books...or...anything).

Evil Within looks scary as shit bro  :(

Finished XCOM2!

Really great game. I don't often actually finish a game, but the this one totally grabbed me, as a lover of turn based strategy, sci-fi and explosions.

I want the DLC now...but USD$40 is a bit rich :(

Can anyone comment on the value of the DLC?
