I gave Squadrons a brief try and it didn't hook me.  I found the controls to be tough to get used to.  I should probably give it another chance.

The Bioshock Collection is on sale on Steam for $11.99.  Is this group of games worth buying?

If you have never played the game I would say yes.

I really enjoyed the series.  A bit on the odd side the whole thing but over all really well done.

They're pretty iconic. Worth a look.

Currently watching the PS5 showcase.  Announcements:

KOTOR remake (by Aspyr)
Project Eve (seems similar to Bayonetta and/or Nier Automata)
Insomniac making both Spiderman 2 and Wolverine
Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy remaster for PS5 and PC
GTA V remaster for PS5
Tchia (cute/wholesome)

New trailers for God Of War: Ragnarok, Tiny Tina's Wonderland, Guardians of the Galaxy, Forspoken, Deathloop, and several I've forgotten.

Tiny Tina's Wonderland.  I knew about this but I am not sure how I feel about it.  She is a fun character, and they absolutely nailed the DLC that centered around her.  But do we really need a whole game centered around her.  My gut instinct says no.  Time will tell.

Your list has a lot of remakes.  What we really is new, great IP.

We absolutely, positively, 100% definitely do.

The trailer looks fun.  It looks, basically, like Borderland Tiny Tina DLC turned into a full game.  Same shooter looter mechanic with spells mixed in.  I do love Borderlands play style.  So it is possible I will like this.  Tina can be a bit much, a whole game of her might be overwhelming.

Ultimately if they fix the problems of BL3 with this game it could be very good.

Well they already have one lined up.

I will probably wait until a good discount comes along and I have some time to play it.

So Sora from Kingdom Hearts is in Smash...

As you might imagine, there are lots of reactions to such news, many of which are heartwarming and pure, if you need something to smile to.

Hope everyone's doing well.

Been watching a couple streamers play through the souls games for the first time, which got me into the mood to finally start up Sekiro.  We'll see if I get through the whole thing, as it's far more actiony and very little RPG.  I'm not quite old enough where that's a problem, but we'll see if the combat is actually satisfying in the long run.

The KOF XV Open Beta starts tomorrow night and lasts over the weekend, so pre-downloaded that.  Seems like there's some decent hype behind it this time, with rollback netcode and some interesting new characters.

Hey Max, I will be curious if you like Sekiro.  There are aspects of it that looks interesting.

Been doing D2R...starting to think about mixing in other games.  I should get back to Death Standing.

KOF XV beta was pretty fun.  There are a few balance issues I hope they look at, and the rollback netcode was a little iffy and tended to be one-sided.  Most of my matches seemed fine but I was getting bodied by pros most of the time, and after losing a couple matches I just set myself to idle in the room and watched them win like 30+ times in a row against all challengers, so that was enlightening at least.  Characters are very "big" so standing attacks hit them out of the air because they can't jump high enough, which is a bit annoying, but the combo routes are more flexible this time at least.

I'm progressing slowly through Sekiro, using the stealth mechanics as best I can to avoid any true deaths.  I'm right before two different bosses and can't decide which to do first.  Apparently hit a bug where the one-time message that explains how to pick up loot didn't appear, so I went the first 4-5 hours without getting any drops from enemies as all their money just sat there with nothing I could do to pick them up (all pre-placed items give a prompt to pick up, loot requires holding Square for a few seconds for some silly reason).  I was a little surprised to see that deflecting (which is basically parrying) uses the same button as blocking, it's just whether you time it perfectly.
