Ehhh.... watch the video. He glances up for like 2 seconds (tops), kind of jokingly.

This one is just a chance for people to go "lol stupid"... which is annoying because there's already plenty of real reasons to call him stupid and making up new ones just obfuscates things.

I have heard mention of her running for gov, but I *think* she has nixed that?

How does a state that elects Angus King and Susan Collins keep electing that guy?

Both times he's won it was a 3-way race against a democrat and an independent, so he's never won 50% of the vote. That said, Maine has a large redneck conservative population so, yeah.

Luckily, thanks to term limits, he's done next year. Of course, he's spewing crap about running for senate, but I don't think he could take Collins or King.

In fairness, I haven't played ESO. Was judging purely on Morrowind and skyrim  :D

Yeah... it's a totally different thing. ;)

I've never played WoW.

I'm also amused that I left FF14 off my list. Remedied.

ESO's combat is fun. The effects are great. Lots of strategy to build planning. Tons of possibilities/diversity in classes (e.g. I'm playing a dual dagger wielding, armor wearing, melee sorceress who focuses on stamina instead of magicka).

Lalas are terrible. Catgirls ftw.  8) But at least they're not nearly as awful as Elin in TERA. Pure pedo-bait there.

I've played:

Elder Scrolls Online (the best MMO)
FF XIV
Guild Wars 1 & 2
The Secret World
Secret World Legends (much improved over TSW)
LOTRO
D&D Online
Neverwinter
TERA
Defiance
Black Desert Online
Marvel Heroes
Wildstar
The Division
EVE Online
Kritika
And a crapload of f2p Korean/Russian/whatever games that are momentarily entertaining but mostly crap.

ESO is the best of them by far (now, but it was awful on launch). Secret World Legends is good. Wildstar is moderately entertaining. FF14 is pretty good as a world (if you can ignore the lala race), but has the most godawful boring combat ever. TERA is terrible as an MMO but a lot of fun as an action game. LOTRO is good if you can past how dated it is. Neverwinter is poop on a stick. The Division is fun for a while until you get tired of bullet sponge enemies. Black Desert Online alternates between "this is great" and "wtf am I doing" for me. Defiance was a flop.

Currently I'm still subbed to ESO but on a break to play some GW2 at the behest of a friend. It's still not a good game, but it's not as awful as it once was. At least it's free (well, no sub).

So many good MMOs out there... and you pick that one to get hooked on?  8)

Meanwhile our fucking idiot tea party governor in Maine has made national news *again* by insisting that taking down Confederate statues is the same as taking down a 9/11 memorial.

Well yes. On release they came right out and said "You get a AAA-quality game of 8-or-so hours, for half the price of a standard AAA game." Seems legit. Worth every penny. I'd have felt I got my money's worth at $60, really.

And... now I just have to wait for all my add-ons to get updated to match...

Hehe yeah. Most people seem to finish it in about 8ish hours. I spent about 14 in it but a lot of that was in photo mode... or Steam group chatting with the game idling.

Welp, I finished that.

Hellblade is, bar none, the greatest story I've ever experienced in a video game. Backed up by amazing sound and graphics and acting, and intensity that starts at 11 and never backs off.

Not the best GAME ever (the combat is passable and fun but not groundbreaking and the puzzles are interesting but nothing that's going to keep you up late at night pondering), but easily the best story. And the ending was just phenomenal. Pure and simple, a storytelling masterpiece that I feel everyone should experience.

PS: Never hit a bug all the way through.

Nearing the end of this, I think. No bugs yet. Still off the charts amazing. I'm torn between this and Horizon Zero Dawn for my GOTY. HZD would win for sheer "gameplay" and size, but this has atmosphere and story and lore in spades. Both are visual masterpieces. Hellblade's audio is the greatest thing I've ever heard from my PC.

Basically, they're both freaking awesome.

So... a couple hours into Hellblade.

Yeah, this game is everything I hoped it would be.

The story is fantastic. The gameplay is compelling. The combat is fun. The graphics are off the charts. And the sound... omg the sound. I'm playing it with a nice 5.1 surround speaker set up and it's just mindblowingly glorious. This game needs surround or, at the very least, good headphones. And so far I haven't encountered a single bug.

I can't stop taking screenshots. It's just redonkulously good looking.

Oh I'll be diving in immediately after work.

I haven't heard of any particular bugginess from any of my friends who have been playing it. We shall see!
