The bot spam is unending. Virtually nobody posts here anymore.

Time to kill the forum? Death by discord?

I guess kill it.  Max is one of the few who still post here.  Flan does too. 

But maybe the time has come.

I think almost everyone is on discord, so I would agree with killing the forum. I imagine dealing with the bots is a real pain.

As mentioned, I'm just fully over the bots.   I think if they weren't here I wouldn't really mind it.  Its just brought me down and made me think of some other websites that have a more negative than positive experience most of the time which is sad as over close to 20 years I've loved this place in its various forms.

I think I need to change some of my browser auto open tabs, take out this and Facebook which has some nice stuff, but also a cesspit of funk and "sponsored posts"

Can you kill it and have some sort of banner/link that points to Discord?

I deal with bots at work and it is a pain in the ass every stinkin' day.

I just joined the Discord (though I don't have it open often), so I'm good either way I guess.  If it's possible to leave a link for anyone else that doesn't drop in that often, that would be cool.  Will miss this place.

Ditto.  It will be sad when this is gone.  Discord is nice but not a perfect substitute.  That said we have had fewer and fewer regular contributers.

Bummer, but I understand. I always hoped D4 would revitalize this place but it still could be a long time away. I've been part of this forum family for over 20 years if you trace it back through the Single Player Forum over at whatever site that was. My goodness there was a lot of silliness and great spirit back in those days. I guess all good things. Thank you to all the folks that helped me or just made me laugh all those years.

Late to the party, but for an easier intermediate measure for the bot aspect : close account creation. Doing this may be enough to just leave the forum as is for now without requiring active maintenance effort.
